I haven't used Cad Overlay in a long time, so this may be of no help. We are now on Raster Design. Under Image->Vectorization Tools->Polyline Follower or Image->Vectorization Tools->Contour Follower would be what you are looking for.

We've had this problem too. We had to install the AutoDesk Wipeout Object Enabler : http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=2525447&linkID=2475161
Now a crash is very rare when messing with wipeouts.
