Hi all,
The company I work for has been approached to re-engineer a test bed for a helicoptor turbine fuid coupling. The test bed needs to be capable of rotating each side of the coupling at two different speeds (>25000 r.pm.) independently.
The reason for the re-engineering is that...
I've seen a number of companies use rev by sheet - I don't see a huge issue with this. Ultimately if you are providing a service to an existing company - its easy to have an opinion - but if they're buying - they should get what they want.
More important to me is the document control system...
There are a couple of other options for you - if you have to work on this sort of thing regularly - have you considered saving your session as workspace ? Also, theres a fantastic add-in available at www.addins.com I think called the spreadsheet assistant - I came across it in a excel...
Gieter,
You neglected to say whether you are importing V5 or V4 Catia data. Theres a Catia V5 import license for NX3 as well as STEP - both work pretty well in my experience, certainly for solid models. The biggets irritation with them is that the model they import effectively becomes a...

In UK automotive applications there are two main companies that are used for surface texturising plastic mould tooling - and in my experience both of these tend to be very cautious about revealing either the technology or patterns that they can produce - the best I have ever seen is a set...
A few years ago when I was faced with a similar problem - I was going to use a low melt alloy called cerobend to fill the tube prior to bending until I realised what the cost was !!
In the end I used sand and a hydraulic bender. The material I was forming was 6082 aluminium alloy 45mm diameter...
Help !!
I am trying to construct a spreadsheet that tracks whether work is completed or in progress against a number of suppliers - the data is similar to that below
A B C
1 supplier 1 complete $1000
2 supplier 2 complete...
Hi Kman007,
I agree with Brandon - you shouldn't have any trouble if the nylon doesn't have any fillers - and then your problems will be more related to wear of the mould tool, filling and filler distribution throughout the final product.

Madmango,
I would suggest your depth of draw is too big for this material thickness using the Vacuum forming method. In my experience you may have trouble with the material tearing across the corner of the deep draw. There are some tricks however that you can pull in order to get the material...
Hi par1,
In my experience, all the platforms I have worked on have tended to have Z=0 at floor level and Y=0 along the centreline of the vehicle. X however has been a different issue - some companies have had it at the bottom of the oil sump - some level with the centreline of the front...
Hi all,
I run a design consultancy in the Uk - and in my experience of recruiting - I just set a couple of past examples of our existing work for any interviewees to mull over at the interview and then judge them on the quality of answer they give. To date this has led me to recruit people...
Hi all,
I recently joined a small privately owned engineering company who uses a 'factors' company when collecting invoices from its customers.
For those who don't know what this is - basically the are an organisation who 'buy' your invoice to your customer for a certain value - typically...
I think you are going to have as many answers for this as there are pre and post processors !!
Have to say Ansa is the choice for me - its incredible and in the benchmarks I did last year, between similar trained people on hypermesh and Ansa - the Ansa tool delivered results in between 30-50%...
hi bicolexpress,
Kinematic Viscosity is the term normally given to a coefficient which describes the diffusion of momentum. The formula for it is normally given as
v=n/rho where n is the dynamic viscosity and rho the density of the material under consideration.
The units for kinematic...
