We want to analyze welds on tubular parts. We would like to be able to get some results of residual stresses due to welding the components together. Does anybody know of some training materials or reference books that are out there that could get us started? From what I see the Mechanica...
I want to use the explode state in a conditional relation to control a dimension. For example: if the explode state is set to "name" then change dimension to something, else do not change dimension. Does anybody know how to do this? or is there a parameter name for explode state?
justkeepgiviner, you are 100% corret. We had different tolerances in the family table, but the people who enforce our standards don't like the look of it. I wish we used metric and could drop trailing zeros. That would solve our problem.
We use the same bore feature in a family table with a datum attached to the dimension. In one instance we want to show the number of decimal places at 2 and in another instance we want to show the number of decimal places at 4. The reason we want to do this is because one bore is a critical...
Can a rule be written that all dimensions go on a dimension layer in a detail drawing? How would this rule be written? I have complex castings/forgings with lots of dimensions and I do not want to use show/erase because there is some dimensions that I do not use or dimension them with added...
We just switched to Wildfire 3 and when we export our detail drawings to .dwg to view with our viewing package, Fastlook, the arrow size is increased on linear dimensions. Leaders & angular dimensions maintain the same size but linear dimension arrow are larger in the exported file. I saved as...
We have decided to change our part number system and we use the same models in hundreds of different assemblies. How can we rename the parts and have the assemblies find them? We are unable to open all the assemblies that the affected part is used on. We do not have Intralink or Windchill...
I am modeling a cardan universal joint and running the joint through operating angles. I am starting at 0 degrees and running it up to 55 degrees. How do I set up a measure to determine the minimum clearance between the 2 yokes that are connected to the joint? I already know they clear, but I...
