No mandrel test is required as it is a pressure line. I guess if a mandrel were to get hung up it could show drastic changes in direction at the joints (or ovalization). If this were so in the vertical direction, then air pockets could be expected. Is this what you are thinking Morten?
I'm seeking good technical info regarding how entrapped air effects pressure water or pressure sewer pipelines. In particular, assuming not all air is evacuated, what could happen during a static leakage test? How will gaskets behave versus the pipe wall? Since air is compressible, will the...
By GRP, I assume you mean fiberglass. Also available, but very different, are plastics - PVC or HDPE.
I have a problem with the 100 year DI performance history. I think it is a sales tactic, as the iron pipe produced 100 years ago was much thicker than what is being produced today. It's...
Many pressure sewer pipe and fitting products will state that they are only designed for liquids. Most installation procedures call for all air to be evacuated from a pipeline prior to acceptance pressure testing. To do this, the pipeline must be filled slowly (1 to 2 ft/s fluid velocity), and...
May I suggest you try the website www.vortexflow.com. Vortex Flow is a fabricated insert fitting that is designed to eliminate odors and corrosion in drop structures. It is a maintenance free alternative to chemical odor control methods.
