    swp macro crashes SolidWorks

I have a SW macro that I used about a week ago, but now when I try to open it for editing it crashes SW. I have 2 other macros in the same folder that cause the same behavior. I tried moving it to a different folder, and I also tried opening the offending macro on another computer, neither of...

ForceRebuild3 is not returning FALSE if there are rebuild errors.

Well, after contacting someone at SolidWorks, it turns out that IModelDoc2::ForceRebuild3 does in fact IGNORE the mates folder. A workaround in my case was to use IModelDocExtension::GetWhatsWrongCount. If this value = 0 (after a rebuild, of course) then the rebuild is completely successful...

    Configurations not updating

It sounds to me like you are experiencing a problem I have had in the past. You can prevent this when you create a new configuration or if you right click on the configuration and go to "Properties". There are 4 checkboxes in the Property Manager-->Advanced Options window. Un-check all of them...

ForceRebuild3 is not returning FALSE if there are rebuild errors.

Sorry, let me clarify. I have mates in the top-level assembly that are conflicting, causing rebuild errors. Does SolidWorks' definition of the successful rebuild of an assembly document exclude the Mates Folder? SW2011 x64 SP3.0, Windows 7 x64

ForceRebuild3 is not returning FALSE if there are rebuild errors.

No, I actually have "False" in there now. I was trying both cases. Not necessary to rebuild that deep. ForceRebuild3 appears to be returning "True" (-1) no matter what... I have tried declaring boolstatus as Variant type, passing it to a variable of type Long, then checking the numeric value...

ForceRebuild3 is not returning FALSE if there are rebuild errors.

    Wow, haven't updated my signature in a while... it should read: "SW2011 x64 SP3.0, Windows 7 x64" SW2011 x64 SP3.0, Windows 7 x64

ForceRebuild3 is not returning FALSE if there are rebuild errors.

So I am trying to cycle through each configuration of an assembly document and check whether there are any rebuild errors. I intentionally added a mate to one configuration that causes errors, but the ForceRebuild3 method does not appear to catch it. My code is attached below. Any suggestions...

SimulationXpress claims "there is no solid body to process"

I actually solved the problem. I rolled back the part file until it actually let me enter SimulationXpress. I then deleted my restraints and loads and closed SimulationXpress. When prompted to save I said yes. I then rolled forward my part document and was able to enter SimulationXpress. SW2009...

SimulationXpress claims "there is no solid body to process"

I have a part which I have modified significantly after running SimulationXpress. After the modification, it will not let me run SimulationXpress and tells me that "there is no solid body to process". I found a thread implicating that the simulation data needs to be stripped from the file, but...

SW moving Block Insertion Point at it's own discretion!

I am using SW 2009 SP2.1 I have a layout sketch in an assembly that I used to create blocks. I then made parts from the blocks. These parts are gears that make up a planetary gearbox. I added gear mates to the parts and it all moved together very nicely as expected. After spinning it around for...

    Macro for inserting multiple curves?

Indeed. This is something that will have to be updated periodically and would benefit from use of a macro.

    Macro for inserting multiple curves?

I have XYZ coordinates for several curves that represent cross-sections of a part I would like to loft through. Around 25 curves containing about 65 points each need to be imported. I could make separate text files for each curve, but is there a way to do it with one excel file (possibly with...

    SW 2009 Issues?

I haven't noticed any major issues like what you describe. I can't really think of anything off the top of my head. It simply asks if it can convert my files to the new type, but I haven't noticed any problems after the conversion. And yes, Eltron, the water is nice...

    Failed to Save Document...

There is no button for "configure component". You have to select "Configure Component" or "Configure Feature" from the drop down menu after you RMB click the part or feature in the Design Tree.
