Thanks Greg,
I take it DDa is the acceleration of the disc/shaft system.
Thus, ignoring damping and assuming T is constant, DDa = (-T - k.a)/J.
Using this in an angle stepping spreadsheet, the accel is linearly proportional to the angle and just keeps increasing (negatively), but I can limit...
Thanks.
My instinct is that the decel will be softened by the flexible shaft, similar to how a thick sole on a trainer reduces the force by increasing the impact time. I don't know how to calculate it though.
Alternatively, perhaps it just introduces a lag.
If a disc with a large inertia is being driven at a constant speed via a flexible shaft, and a brake torque is applied to the end of the shaft (away from the disc), will the disc deceleration still be equal to torque/inertia or is it more complicated? (ignoring other effects such as bearing...
Toost, I am talking about the font width when creating pdf's using the 'standard widths' option. I know they can be set to custom but we are working with Teamcenter and that, by company policy, uses the 'standard widths' option.
The problem is that using Normal and Thick widths for fonts does...
Thanks Toost,
I tried adjusting that setting in Gateway and it had no effect on already created text but may do so on new text. The same setting is in Prefs > Object > Line Widths.
Going off the icon in the font list, I presume gefont_5 is an original NX font (I don't know why my company chose...
We use ge_font5 and it has width options of thin, normal and thick that are set to 0.13, 0.18 and 0.25mm.
Is it possible to change these defaults somewhere as I'd like to increase them.
Is there anyway to remove the title in the draughting window - it looks something like the following and resides in the bottom left corner: Sheet "Sheet 1" Work
It gets in the way when I export a PNG.
I believe this is old enough to be copyright free - if somebody has a copy, please can they post it on flikr or similar.
Forum member gearcutter posted it previously but the link no longer works:

Thanks but nobody is telling me what the actual value of tolerance inputted relates to or has units of.
Ideally, I want a tolerance of 0.1g no matter how complex or what size the model is.
In Preferences > Measurement, does anybody know what the tolerance value applies to.
For example, if I select g.mm on Menu > Analysis > Units and the tolerance is set to 1, will the result be within 1g? Or is it the result independent of the units setting and based on some underlying model...
Is there a way to create the type of blend shown in the picture below without adding a small blend to the vertical edge?

Q1) Say I'm in a situation where I've picked several arcs that I want to make the same radius, gone looking to see if I've missed any and the floating constraint toolbar disappears. It is that one that I want to get back.
Michaël, pressing c brings up the normal geometric constraint window but...
