    If a had to do it with surfaces? Bounded plane on all of the planer areas, then enlarge them and face blend.

    For Printing to Scale you have to setup your plotter in Printer Administration and use the Plot command

    as a 25+ yr NX user, those are things I don't use, spreadsheets and such... But I believe the terms you want to be searching for is Part Families and Product templates Youtube and Vimeo have some decent videos.

    If its a Vector PDF from a cad system, you can use Inkscape to make it into a DXF and then import that into NX short of buying a converter program, that's the only way i know how to do it.

    Do you have a Staged Model license? if so thats may work for you. Though I don't know if you can creat drawings from the "stages" I watched a youtube vid on it, but when I tried it I found I lack the license.

    you can add a background grid, it doesnt show up when printing or plotting.

    Like SDETERS mentioned, I'd try Synchronous 1st. Optimize face, but use the selection to pick the body Faces, Then offset the single face. If the geometry is clean it should move and adapt the blend faces. if not? untrim the flat face you want to move, offset it your distance and re-blend
