Is there a point when a diesel fuel tank for a generator becomes so large that it becomes classified as a hazardous area required a special hazardous location rated tank? A few years back I worked on a project where I believe at 10,000 gallons, diesel becomes classified as "hazardous".
what is the minimum depth that medium voltage (13,200V) PVC conduits encased in concrete with 3 inches of concrete to the dirt from the conduit? is there a minimum? is the depth to the edge of the concrete or the edge of the conduit?
Does current code require that the ground prong for a grounded, 115V reeceptacle be the top prong? Most often, the phase and neutral prong are installed at the top.
NEC Table 310.60.c.77 lists ampacities of MV copper conductors in an electrical ductbank in accords with figure 310.60. i am working on a project where 9 circuits will be used in a 3x3 square ductbank arrangement. i don't see ann NEC table for this?
is there a similar NEC table or...
my company is designing the electrical system for a building. this building, an administration and classroom building for a local college, has a raised floor over the entire floor to receive LEED credits and facilitate easier distribution of communication cabling. it is not a dedicated...
i am putting a panel in a commercial kitchen. ironically, this wall space also has a hand dishwashing line on it. how far do i need to be away from the washing line? i don't think the NEC addresses this but do other codes?
thanks!
thanks for the reply! i agree with you but if you read the 2008 NEC handbook (not the code book itself but the explanation of the code), on page 43, it states in the colored box "when the available short-circuit exceeds the short-circuit current rating of an electrical component, the...
is the let-through current via a current limiting overcurrent protective device (such as a fuse) an acceptable gauge to what aic rating the equipment needs to have? i don't think it is and the available short circuit current must be used but i can't find this in the NEC. perhaps i just...
