You should take a look at:
- "Generalized method for determining the pipe friction loss of flowing pulp suspensions”, TAPPI TIS 0410-14 (1988)
- Lindsay, J.D. and Gullischsen J. “Pulp Pumping and Hydraulics”, IPST Technical Paper Series Number 562, Institute of Paper Science and Technology...
Thank you all for your responses.
bucs2047: I need them for November, so I have time, thanks.
MJCronin: Thanks for the sarcasm; I didn't mean to bother you with my request. Of course I google it but couldn't find anything worthy, so that's why I asked.
Best regards,
RK
Hi,
I have to give a one-hour brown-bag lunch training on water hammer (just the very basics!)
I am looking for some pics to illustrate the consequences of water hammer.
I wonder if anyone can kindly point out where to find or send me some photos with pipe/support failure due to surge.
Thank...
Hi,
Thanks TenPenny and Artisi for your help. The curve's issue date is June/89. This pump service is blending tank feed from a Hi-density storage tank. Air-entrainment can be an issue here, but I have no data about this.
I've made some measurements (head, flow and input power) and got an...
Hi,
In a stock pump manufacturers'curve two capacities and corresponding TDH are indicated: The rated one for stock (5675 USGPM @ 73.5ft)and the "equal water rating" (5900 GPM @77 ft).
The fluid is unbleached kraft with 3.5% consistency.
Nevertheless, from Gould pumps' "centrifugal pump...

It's considered that the maximum temperature difference is only 7°C, so the thermal loads in the 32" diameter and 1" thickness pipe are "only" 120 tons.
Thanks !
kokopei,
Look at B16.9 Factory-MAde Wrought Buttwelding Fittings, or B16.11 Forged Fittings, Socket-Welding and Threaded.
For reinforcement of Welded Branch Connections look at ASME B31.3 para. 304.3
Hi JStephen,
Thanks for your answer.
The pipe is under B31.11. For seismic loads it call for seismic codes.
Seismic codes are very general and they hardly speak of pipes.
Maybe because the pipe is pressurized (and full) the effects of this thrust load can be neglected. But I'm not so sure...
Hi,
I have a 32" slurry pipe inside a tunnel (2500 m length). The pipe is straight and is anchored in 5 points, evenly distributed. At both end of the tunnel the pipe bends and then get underground.
The weight of the pipe is 600 kg / m
The weight of the internal fluid is...
I'm looking for statement 1), to add up the stresses distributed over a given area.
I can list stresses in all nodes with the report writer tool from the Post Processing and then add them , but I don't know how to list only the stresses in the area of my interest.
Is there any easy way to do...
Hi Ed,
I intend to design a reinforced concrete solid, modeling the solid only as an isotropic concrete. Then dimension the reinforcing steel to meet the stress demands of the applied tractions obtained from the FE analysis.
In order to dimension the reinforcing steel, I need to integrate the...
Hi,
I've a copy of the British Code BS7159:1989 for design of GRP piping system. In point 7.3.4.2 it dictates for the longitudinal pressure stress the folowing equation:
Long. pressure stress = p (Di+t)/40t
where
p : internal design pressure
Di : internal diameter...
