What is the latest solution for a stripped screw hole in plastic, where a sheet metal type screw is used to assemble and hold parts together? I am looking for a solution other than using a larger size screw or adding a spring type nut. Thanks,

By experience I can only suggest: 1)divide the elements of the unit and place them in cells. A flow chart would breakdown the elements as, raw material, cutting, punching, breaking, sub assembly, soldering, cleaning, testing, reworking, re-testing, packaging and shipping. 2)the departments...
In the old days we used to coat the areas with primer followed by laquer paint.Once fastened we painted it again and it worked well. Now we have epoxy. Used the same way should be terrific. Hope this works for you.

When it comes to teaching I use pictures and drawings for my students. I draw with AutoCad and make step by step drawings that an eight year old can understand. This is not to say anything negative about the student. Some people learn faster than others. Hope this helps.

I am searching for a method, cheaper than using tinnerman nuts, to secure a panel assy with stripped screw holes. The panels were originaly assembled with "sheet metal" screws. We prefer to continue using SM scews. Options? Ideas?
