I have a strobe light which is sold as a safety device for attaching to a diving suit to attract attention whilst lost and adrift.
I think the actual flashing bit is a xenon discharge tube (out of my depth here).
When I test the strobe in ambient light it works normally. flash rate once every 3...
Being pedantic Mike, your answer assumes input and output shaft are co-axial. Any other arrangement (ie single pass spur 'box) would require vector calculations based on relative shaft centre positions.
Gentlemen,
Thanks for replies.
Unfortunately, the design has always been tight on axial space (the reason for using a sealed bearing in the first place, rather than a separate seal). Also we are keen to maximise efficiency and minimise seal drag.
The shaft in question is well above the oil...
Good afternoon.
I have a gearbox design which is showing signs of gentle incontinence (note NOT incompetence ;-) ).
Oil is seeping trough a sealed bearing (which is way above the static oil level, we thought the "seals" in the bearing should resist the occasional splash of oil but...
As if to further proove my electrical incompetence, previous post was wrong. Motor was originally wired 415V wye.
I connected it 240V wye (and it rotates).
Is this matrix of connection against voltage correct?
connection voltage result
wye 414 ok :-)
delta...
Tiny Glimmer of light dawning.
Follow up - Have now connected three phase inverter (output 220V) to my motor which was previously connected DOL to 415V 3 phase supply and good things happen (motor turns, no smoke etc).
I did not change the coil connection links inside the terminal box so...
Suspect this is a dumb question from an electrically inept mechanical guy!
We have a 415 volt 3 phase supply (415 volt between phases?). Can I connect a 3 phase motor in either star or delta configuration?
I think in star, the torque / current is greatly reduced. Correct?
If so, why would anyone...
