Hi all,
Using WB 12, how can I grag the nodal positions for an area? For example, in classical, I select the particular area, then select nodes attaced to that area. I am interested in knowing the undeformed positions, and then the deformed position (displaced).
Thanks in advance!
You can do this with DC voltage. AC could be tricky. I use WB to do electric fields with voltage differentials. Not sure about a license.. multiphysics should cover it
Hi all,
I'm just starting out using DesignModeler with workbench 12. I know the classic version very well, and I am looking for the "glue" command. It seems that I am looking for Connect in DM...When I use this command it seems to connect the areas OK but I dont think the lines and nodes are...
Hi all,
I have a relatively simple question. I have a large model with many contact pairs. I need to remesh one of the volumes because I am not happy with the way the model runs. If I remesh the volume, will all the contact pairs associated with that volume's areas update? If not, can I...
I'm not terribly familiar with the ADPL, but you can replicate this procedure for the GUI, and then look in the log to see what the specific commands were for your geometries.
Select your volume, select the areas of interest, then select nodes->attached to->areas, all
that will select all...
What is the ring made out of? Depending on the material, you need to select an appropriate material mode. Also, does the material model NEED to be nonlinear?
Hmmm... if you plot lines only, are the lines shared? Check out the keypoint XYZ locations as well. It will let you know if the parts are truly touching.
Also, if the parts were created perfectly in Ansys and already share lines, keypoints, areas etc, you could always glue them together and...
Usually this error means there are problems with your geometries. If you want to add volumes, they must be very very close (basically touching) in order for the add command to work.
Are your volumes generated from a CAD interface then brought into Ansys?
Hi all,
I have an analysis running which seems to be getting stuck on 1 particular element. The output indicates "1 U-P ELEMENTS DO NOT SATISFY THE VOLUMETRIC COMPATIBILITY"
I am not so much concerned about the message because I encounter it all the time with hyperelastics. However, is there...
The model "converges" multiple times per substep. However after each convergence it will say XX elements do not satisfy the volumetric compatability.
I see the "<<<CONVERGED" as many as 8 times before it bisects. It just continues to solve. I even watch the GST and I see the lines cross but...
Hi All,
I have a working model which achieves convergence, but I keep getting multiple convergence iterations on some load steps.
XX U-P ELEMENTS DO NOT SATISFY THE VOLUMETRIC COMPATIBILITY
Is there anything I can do here aside from just stepping the load smaller? Small load steps work...
Just to show my convergence issue, I attached the below picture of my solution progress.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=cd0d745c-a40b-400b-9ed6-c862d9886276&file=oscillation.jpg
