Hi,
There is a very simple way to size the wall, there exists an ASTM standard called D4097-95a that clearly states standard wall thicknesses, as well as all the rest for your exact application. Pick up a copy at the ASTM site, I think it's about $40 US.
cheers
Hello everyone,
I'm designing an open top rtp tank for an underground application. The liquid to be stored is dirty water for a water treatment plant. There is nothing dangerous or caustic in the fluid. The calculation of all dimensions are clear to me EXCEPT the thickness of the wall...
I have a waste stream with metal sludge I need to settle in a cone basin. The effluent is to be drained to be treated. It is the aqueous solution result of an alkaline cleaner and a chromate solution.
Are there any rules of thumb for this, or articles etc?
