    BSME vs. BSMET degree

Forget the tech degree, go for the bsme or better yet a masters degree. Its more work, but you'll be glad you did. You will have more respect, responsibility, self-satisfaction, and money in the field of engineering. And you can still "turn wrenches" if you want to. But you probably won't...

Is the PROE Thermal package any good?

I use both pro/e W.F. 2.0 stucture and thermal. I have never used another thermal package so it is hard to compare. The best thing about pro mec therm is the ease of transfering solid models into it, and transfering results into structure. Also pro mech therm not only does steady state, but...

    Multi-plate deflection analysis??

Sorry it took so long to get back to you all. I appreciate the advice, it all helped in different ways. Thanks again.

    Multi-plate deflection analysis??

That would work if I wanted to analize all 3 plates as an "equvilant unit". However, the point of interest is how do the individual plates move and stress relative to one another. That is the analysis task at hand. Any suggestions?

    Multi-plate deflection analysis??

How can I model (3) flat plates which are bolted together in their four corners and has a load in the middle. I need to examine their stresses & displacements relative to each other. Thanks in advance.

    Press fit

An easier method to be used in Integrated mode is this; If you know the interference (displacement) of the press fit then you can work backwards by placing a pressure load on the female section until the interference displaecement is reached. This value of pressure can be assumed to be the...

    [CROSS SECTIONS IN WILDFIRE 2.0]

How do I create and view a cross section of a part or assembly in the pro/e wildfire 2.0 part modeler?? Is it not in the same drop down menu (tools) as it was in Wildfire?

    Torque required to bend pipe??

What is the equation for the torque required to bend sch 160 steel pipe 90 deg with an 18" inside radius using a rolling style bender? Is there a generic equation for this?
