yeah, i only used my bridge book from college, but i didnt even need that
The question was simply getting a factor from a table
I have a practice exam for the SE, but i kinda don't wanna look through it until i am ready to really study. If i do that, i'll feel like i'm cheating myself.
Does anyone know whether using this version would be sufficient for the SE exam?
I am 100% sure that it was good enough for the regular PE/structural exam, but i would like to know if I could simply use this version to study and take to the test with me
thanks
DRC1 - i do not agree with you. A undergraduate CANNOT solve this problem when it has vibration and earthquake motion. Dynamics of structures is a 6000 level course, as is Earthquake engineering along with Finite/boundary elements.
Also, since there has been much research (AISC references this)...
hopefully i won't get in trouble for giving details
but i work for a nuclear powerplant. These are already in place, but they proposed to make some additions (see pic, lines in red)
There are two sets of these, of either 3 or 4.
I know for a fact that nuclear powerplants need to be analyzed...
hello again
i would like to thank you for all your imput
Gbor - i meant two runs as in pinned/fixed. I did plan on running it multiple times for the member sizes tho
EdR/Greglock/civilperson - these cannot be done by hand because i need to analyze for dynamic effects as well...
hi, i wanna make this short
i work for a company and it seemed to me that the way they work things are quite inefficient
i attached a picture of what they have..
looking at it, it seems VERY basic; in reality its even a 2D frame
anyways, i wanted to know if this is sound engineering..
i was...
could it be that when you check, you only consider moment about one specific direction? Perhaps the max ratio occurs at some other axes besides the principles
doesnt SAP allow you to be able to calculate a torsion constant?
i know people were using it to verify their hand calculations for a take home test
i figured if SAP calculates torsional rigidity, it would be able to make use of it
hey guys, i'm new here and wanna try this out
i need to analyze a cross section, and be able to display stresses in 2D
i tried drawing a simple rectangle and added a region
the i save it and try to import it but nothing happens
i cant figure out what i'm doing wrong, i remember doing somthing...
