"It's impossible to imagine all but the most stupid inattentive drivers could not notice something is seriously wrong. Yes I know we should not underestimate the destructive talents of idiots or imagine they are in short supply.

Quite possibly the most accurate statement ever to...
Several makers have taken the "central filler" route more recently and most probably Triumph TR6 being the most well known.
Jaguar and Aston-Martin also side stepped the problem with filler points on both sides of the car for some of their models.
Added costs and complexity but made finding a...
Michael,
You might find flex tube or even vacuum cleaner flex plastic tube a more accurate substitute.
This tends to give a better approximation of the space required.
Peter.
Norm,
The only other car using cantilever springs for location I can recall is the early MkI Jaguar sedans circa 1960 / 61.
Yes the Sprigets were a little "twitchy"...downright treacherous if you really want to be honest... but a great fun drive and all at or below the legal limit in most...
Lambent 32,
have a search for books by Ian Falloon on the Ducati DesmoQuattro and other Ducati engines and also for a book by Alan Cathcart and Marc Cook on the Ducati 999.
Both discuss the valve layouts , angles , packaging requirements etc in detail and Falloon makes comparisons with...
Related to the above posts is the dimension used by Rolls Royce for their six cylinder inline engines.
It remained the same for 44 years and there was a paper written on it.
The title was "The History of a Dimension" and the writer was G.S. Grylls.
Link below for those interested...
Autogyro,
One point which may complicate matters is isolating the signals from the test model from those generated by the motion of the carry vehicle to give accurate data.
Never done it so I am not sure how much of a problem it may be.
Interesting thought though.
Peter.
Rick,
If the adhesives don't work as you want you might try locating a place performing plastic welding.
Local phone book , car clubs etc are usually good sources.
This can be done to appear virtually undetectable from the inside of the vehicle.
Good luck , Peter.
There were two main reasons for the Jaguar arrangement:
The first as Lionel Hutz suggested being a flat floor for the luggage compartment which was a complaint from some about the previous car.
The second was to allow the rear subframe to be installed and removed as a unit since the coil over...
If it is of any help here...Citroen used scale models for their cars in wind tunnels and the smallest scale was 1:10.
I recall reading a comment from them along the lines that anything less was not sufficiently accurate to base decisions on.
This was back in the 1970's so it may well have...
autogyro46,
I suggest the main reason no other makers "picked up the ball" is simply the cost of paying Moulton to use their system when makers like BMW can engineer one of their own and not have to pay anyone to use it.
One practical aspect of the Moulton hydragas / hydrolastic set up is the...
"
Historically speaking- I believe that hypoid rear axle drives came into being simply to allow lower floorpans of vehicles, rather than any other particular advantage. Any comments? (wouldn't be the first time I was mistaken!)'
Basically correct.
The earliest cars sometimes had worm drive...
archangel,
there is a dedicated 215 chat group on Yahoo if that helps.
No personal experience with either the engine of the group.
Also this engine and variants of it are a popular option for Z car (Nissan / Datsun 240 , 260 , 280Z series) modifiers so a board for them may provide some leads...
msquared48 ,
There are a few Prius owners groups on the internet and perhaps one may hold the answer you are chasing.
This is the leading item according to Google:
http://www.priusownersgroup.com/
I have to agree that is a significant drop.
Wheel alignment alterations possibly?
Pete.
