I've done these simulations many times by solving
the 3-D elastic contact problems. The model included
two gears, a bearing.
No external help was used since I had confidence in
these subjects.
I believe that they'll run well if the following three
conditions are met:
(i) the two base circle pitches are equal
(ii) the contact ratio is larger than 1
(iii) the center distance is set properly so that there
is no interference
Many gear design software are advertised in this
page:

The company called Involute Simulation Softwares has
sold bevel gear software.
Also Gleason has commercial gear software to sell.

I've run through a rating process. The answer is
yes if the gears are at least through-hardened-heat- treated, and expect to run 300 hours, with AGMA Quality
Q9.
Warning: I am not liable to my estimate. More detailed
and rigorous analysis are required if you really decided
to use them lift 10...
The 2GB memory limit was posed by the Windows XP operating
system, not the ANSYS version or the ANSYS Inc.
Over years, Microsoft has slowly upgraded the Windows
operating system, first from 16-bit to 32-bit. Now we'll
need the 64-bit upgraded from the 32-bit. The 64-bit
system supports using...
Yes, I plan to use 64-bit windows to overcome the
limit of 2gb RAM. My PC has 8 GB RAM. But my
ANSYS can only uses less than 2GB now to solve the
contact problems. Thus it's slow now.
Bevel gear design is a serious mechanical engineering
subject. A acceptable approach is to follow the following
standard:
"ANSI/AGMA 2003-B97 - Rating the pitting resistance and
bending strength of generated straight bevel, zerol
bevel and spiral bevel gear teeth"
AGMA has been creating a...
Canadian company Standard Machines,

in Saskatoon,SA, can also design and
make large gearboxes. I visited that
company three years ago, and saw several
large Niles grinders, which were bought
from Philadelphia Gear when Philadelphia

The planetary gear drive with four planets will
transfer more power/torque than that using three
planets.
There are many questions and answers in gear engineering.
The price of ANSYS is lower than the ABAQUS,
the difference could be several thousands, because
ANSYS is sold by the outside dealers.
ABAQUS' fracture mechanics and contact problem
solvers were better. Now such capabilities of
ANSYS are also very satisfactory.
ANSYS' own GUI is better than...
