I fully support what rmw says. Truckers do not like giving up payload at all.

You can hand start anything with the correct mechanism. The air pump and accumulator being one end of the scale and the jumping off the embankment being the other. You just need to build, store then suddenly release energy. Spring powered impulse starters for motor mowers being a very common...

I know what modern disk pads get. The point is what did classic disk pads get vs classic drum brake linings. In my experience when a similar car was offered with optional disk brakes, the disk brake option required more regular replacement. Maybe it was placebo or maybe small sample size or...
A properly done compression test with results that are actually possible would be a good starting point to sort this out.
Also taking some notice of those who actually know something might be a worthwhile approach.

Maintenance costs and downtime. Disc pads do not live as long as linings.
No matter how much performance you build in it does not increase safety if the operator just uses the extra performance and leaves the same estimated margin. It saves time, but does not increase safety.

It's pretty hard to dye PE. I know some things will stain it a bit, but it is generally considered to be impossible to dye.

I think you mean a Factory Workshop Manual.
I think Mike is referring to a build log book that records everything done when repairing or more importantly modifying an engine.
A Factory Workshop Manual is used to repair a car to factory specification or to a factory recommended repair standard...
The way I always test off road suspensions for binding is to jack the corner up and support on a stand, then remove the wheel and the spring, then use a trolley jack under the hub or brake or spindle and jack the suspension through its full range while also turning from lock to lock.
