I've set read-only attribute to DynLicensing.CATSettings and that works fine. At least in earlier versions, the licenses wasn't dropped att session end, I'm not sure if they are dropped at session end now.

We've seen it when sectioning very large assemblies and where there is one part covering everything. Also had problems sectioning a view with a complex surface model within.
I'm not sure where the problem is but probably Catia memeory management and/or Windows memory limitation.

Have you tried setting the Tools-Options-Infrastructure-Part Infrastructure-Keepl link with selected object option?
While you're there, deselct the Only use published elements... option or publish the assembly parameter.

Instead of copying your catsettings back into the catsettings directory, you can add a line in your environment file so Catia will read the backup directory first, then your user directory. When later the S**T hits the fan, you jjust delete the user catsettings directory and everything is back...

He want the text to stick out from the bell radially and then 3D print it. I guess it's a x-mas present...
The soultion for now is to create the text as a pad up to surface (bell) ant then split it with an offset surface from the bell. Looks rather pretty but not exactly what he wanted.
