If your talking about water injection then you'll have a very low (nominal) solids content, so straight forward erosion should be minimal. However in a carbon steel system you could get synergistic corrosion erosion which is related to velocity. You could also get straighforward erosion if you...
Kaos1,
Not sure on the solubility aspects but depending on the particle size and solid type powders will fall into different categories. Search of Geldart on the web as he did a lot of work on power classification, this may help you look at this problem.

Big issue with raw water injection is corrosion. Just as with everything is comes down to economics. Ie additional equipment to dearate but cheap tubing and completion or no deaeration but exotic tubing and completion material which is expensive. We've been through this loop several times and...
mmilbury,
Removal of CO2 from natural gas usinf NaOH is only possible if you were to convert the CO2 to it's acidic form by for example bubbling it through water to form carbonic acid. This seems like a strange way of doing it when there are already a number of other more sucessful methods...
Joisy,
Don't know much about UltSon flow meters so was interested in your post. However I do know a bit about sand. Do you really have 0.1% sand in your oil? This is 1 full barrel of sand per thousand barrels of oil! I'm used to dealing with 20 pounds per thousand barrels as a high value, but...
Looking at the problem a different way. Have you challenged the need for the filters being sized at 20µm? In the offshore industry we've seen similar situations where inline filters have been over specified and through investigation have been removed or respecified to a higher size.
Just a thought!
Online NMR is used for the determination of both RON (Research Octane Number) and MON (Motor Octane Number) for gasoline blending stocks. This online measurement is used to allow a refinery to blend different stocks of gasoline in real time to meet an export RON or MON.

From my experience within the refining industry I'd say that the performance monitoring of process plant was common practice. This would traditionally involve, steadying the plant on a regular basis, perhaps weekly, then gathering and analysing samples/data to determine efficiency/performance...
Not sure about the reversible nature of the reaction. However in an alternate oil process involving Nap Acid neutralisation by caustic we found two problems. Firstly calculating the correct dosage level of caustic and secondly obtaining sufficient mixing to neutralise all the Nap Acid. The...
