What name is accurate for a linear motor rotor

Clyde38, For us the Primary Forcer is the magnetic moving component and the secondary track is the stationary coil. Regards, Rich....[viking2] Richard Nornhold, PE http://www.energizer.com

    High speed linear actuator required

khonfam, If you're looking for an actuator with this level of Force, Speed and Stroke and you need a range, you might want to take a look at LinMot. They are an excellent servo controlled, linear actuator. Regards, Rich.....[viking] Richard Nornhold, PE http://www.energizer.com

What name is accurate for a linear motor rotor

Clyde38, I have seen different terms used for each of the components. We have converged on Primary Forcer and Secondary Track. Regards, Rich....[viking2] Richard Nornhold, PE http://www.energizer.com

    Jig Grinding of Large Piece

All, I am looking to put down a circular hole pattern, in a piece that is 36" in diameter. The hole pattern is at 35" in diameter. I am looking for high precision on this part and we are looking for someone to jig grind this operation. Does any one know of a company that can handle a piece...

    STEAM not STEM

One of the best shows I've ever seen on television was a show called "Connections" with host James Burke. He would take you from the origins of a technology, like the smelting of metal, all the way through how the various connections brought about the modern jet airplane. It was very good...

    Peelable masking for conformal coating

chopper75, I'm guessing you are using some type of masking tape(hence the name) that is manually cut with an exacto knife and hand applied by a technician. If this is the case and the labor component is high, you might want to check out a company that does adhesive labels, that has die cut...

4-Foot Hollow Steel Bar, Wrapped in Fine Wire, Do What With?

lionx, If you are hiking near high power lines, and you wrapped the bar with insulated wire, then you could create a transformer. I had a friend once who had a cabin in a remote location. He did the exact same thing. What he wasn't counting on, was how closely the power companies monitor...

How Do Specify Foundation Trench for 36 ton Machine.

projectegr1000, Usually the equipment manufacturer will have a recommended installation. This will include the foundation drawing with any isolation requirements to the surrounding pad. Your best path is to consult the press manufacturer. Regards, Rich......[viking2] Richard Nornhold, PE...

    Multi-Axis Servo Control Costs

dzine, Just curious why you are looking at four (4) up tooling on the end gripper? Is it cycle time? What kind of load are your looking to move? Rich......[viking2] Richard Nornhold, PE http://www.personna.com

    Multi-Axis Servo Control Costs

dzine, Your questions are highly dependent on specifics of system loads/speeds etc. That being said in the past as a rule of thumb, I've used $8kUSD/axis of motion for servo systems. Please note that this is highly dependent on system a broad range of system specific variables that need to be...

What do people use for tool database management?

woodwood, Depending on the level of tool management that you are dealing with, there are companies (like MSC) that will bring in a vending machine for tooling with a computer interface that tracks tool usage by operator and by job. Check out the link...

    Accelerating a Mass with pneumatics

Pnuematics for motion control are typically not a good ideal. Repeatablity and control using air (compressible gas). If you want to accelerate a mass, maybe using a timing pulley and timing belt arrangement might be better. This hooked to a motor with variable speed drive, might do the trick...
