    Volumetric Flow Rate

I was trying to calculate emissions and the old emission calculation uses 387 scf/lbmol for off-gas to a boiler? How do I ensure that it is 387 scf/lbmol because all I found was conversions of 359 scf/lbmol or 379 scf/lbmol at STP. Where did they get 387 scf/lbmol from?

I was trying to determine density o

I was trying to determine density of the following chemicals: 1) Natural gas 2) Diesal 3) Propane Also, what type of firing (front, tangential, opposed) for most space heaters, boilers, hot water heaters?

Max BFW (Boiler Feed Water)Temp. at 800 psi

How do you quantify the savings for raising the BFW temp? For example, if BFW is now 300F, compared to 255F going to all boilers, how do you calculate the heat benefit? (savings in $)? Also, any savings in raising pressure in deaerators from 3 psi to 15 psi? Shouldn't use as much oxygen...

    Natural Gas to Flare

The natural gas would be needed for start-up of the unit. When the unit start-ups, the off-gases must be flared until the incinerator is brought up. What is the amount of natural gas I would need in the flare for the vent gas? I hope this clarifies the question.

    Natural Gas to Flare

I was trying to determine the amount of natural gas, I needed, when I was starting up my unit (formaldehyde), how would I calculate the amount of natural gas needed?

Max BFW (Boiler Feed Water)Temp. at 800 psi

I am trying to heat the BFW at 800 psi, what is the maximum temperature BFW (water) can be at (liquid state, without any vapor)? What method was used to calculate Max temp. of water?

Air Leak or Steam Leak Survey

Anybody know of any companies that conduct air leak or steam leak surveys? Do you think it is beneficial to have an air leak or steam leak survey done? What has been your experience with air leak and steam leak surveys(price for survey $, price for repairs $, payback time #months or #years...

    Suction Pressure

Wouldn't suction pressure always be greater than atm unless its a vacuum pump, thus pressure will be approx. 10.8+14.7=25.5psi for the problem???

    Suction Pressure

If I had water in a tank that is 25ft high and I have a pump on ground level. What is the suction pressure? 18psig P2-P1=pgh

    Cooling Tower

I was trying to investigate the details on installing a hyperbolic cooling tower. After some research, I noticed that in order to have a hyperbolic, there is a lot of cooling water required (500,000gpm). I was wondering if anybody knew the recommended min. requirement for cooling water for a...

    Max Flow Rate

I was using the equation Q = V * A.........where V was assumed to be max velocity of natural gas (100 ft/s) and Diameter of pipe was 12"...I calculated a Q of 6.79ft3/day, but I know there is at least 41MMSCFD going through that pipe....What did I do wrong?

    Vent Ratio for Deaerator

I was trying to determine the vent ratio for a deaerator vent ratio=(vent from deaerator/ (total steam to deaerator-vent from deaerator))....Since there isn't a indicator on the amt. of steam entering the deaerator, I am doing an energy Balance....which is steam required= ((Qm * (T1-T2))/Hfg)...

    Max Flow Rate

How do you determine the maximum flow rate of fuel gas through a 6" pipeline and how do you determine the maximum velocity of fuel gas through pipe once you know maximum flow rate?
