    Who is the Mazak guru?

Would that be an independent or a company employee?

Cutting Conditions for Fanuc F0-3015 Laser

Amada used to have a handout in PDF called the "Cutting Know-How" which included pictures of Steel, Stainless and Aluminum Cut which was pretty good info. I would contact the Applications Department and see if you can get a copy of it. As far as not having the nozzles, I would take a 1.4 Eco...

Cutting Conditions for Fanuc F0-3015 Laser

The mode will make a world of difference when cutting steel with oxygen, as well as a constant flow of oxygen. Based on the information you provided, you're cutting 1/4 and 3/8 just fine. In my experience cutting with this machine 1/2 was tricky at times but was mainly material related. To...

    Amada FO with Amada resontor

This one never made it to the States or anywhere else for that matter for the same reason, spares. I would put a call into Amada Japan. Sorry I can't be of help on this one.

    Amada FO laser head help

I would certainly spend the money for an ECO Head since this is mostly used for what you described, high speed piercing on thick plate up to 0.5" (12.5 mm). The WACS Head is nice to have small features on thick plate (0.5" to 1.0") like a 0.375" hole in 0.75". It is a bit cumbersome to use...

    Amada LC Alpha 3 laser

This machine should be able to cut 6 mm Stainless NO PROBLEM. Where are you putting your focus point in relation to the material? What is your gas pressure, feedrate, power? What lens are you using? What is the condition of the lens? Have you checked for stress fracture on the lens itself? Are...

blobs of slag on stainless 11gauge

I think you may want to play with your modulation which at 30% may be OK but I would certainly play with your laser basic power. I agree with Henry Rollins as well in double-checking your braking and acceleration factors and to also call the apps. department at Bystronic.

    cutting 1/4" HRS on Bystar 4020 2800watt

Adekker, Here is what I would use for Pulse Cutting this hole: Power: 1800 Freq: 10 Pulse Width: 25000 Gas Pressure: 0.8 bar Feedrate: 150 mm You may be able to cut this hole using CW but you more than likely have to play with the power and feedrate and maybe modulation. Hope this helps.

cutting conditions for 5/16 aluminum "FO3015 Amada laser?

I agree with maayhemm's recommendations with the only variable being the focus point in relation to the material. In thick aluminum cutting (specially anything thicker than 0.25") you want to have a shallow focus point in order to not only cut but pierce easier as well. The dross on the...

    Excessive wear on nozzles

Pierce Nozzle Gap seems fine, just curious to find out what material thickness are you cutting that you need a nozzle gap of 0.012". I've only seen this on thick stainless (0.187" to 0.75"). If you are cutting gauge material (22 GA to 10 GA or 0.030" to 0.135") I would use a nozzle gap of...

    Excessive wear on nozzles

Nozzles usually wear out faster when cutting with Nitrogen at high pressure due to the fact that they sit closer to the material surface. That being said, what is your pierce nozzle height for piercing/cutting? As far as build up, is the Stainless you're processing PVC Coated (Plastic Vinyl...

Buying a New Laser: Input Please!

MikeMech, The issue is with the table is weight, the inertia factor can cause damage to the ballscrews. Yes, you should be able to cut up to 3/4", the Fanuc resonator loves thick plate. Heck, you can cut 1/2" HRS with 1500 Watts. This machine has been around since the early 90's and was...

Buying a New Laser: Input Please!

I think both manufacturers make a very good product and both have advantages and disadvantages as well. The Amada has Fanuc Control, Drives and Resonator which is RF Excited with more power than the Mazak's Panasonic DC Excited which would require a bit more maintenance in the long run and...

laser cutting titanium Trumpf L5030 and L4030

I haven't cut Titanium on a Trumpf Laser but I have on Mazaks (1000/1500 Watts), Amadas (2000-4000 Watts), and Bystronic (4400 Watts) as thin as 0.020 to 0.500". You will need 100% Argon on the thicker stuff, you can cut the thinner with Nitrogen but there will be too much oxidation from it...

Do you have cut conditions for .01 copper?

Just like krugtech and laserninja told you, babysit the machine and don't walk away from cutting. Laserninja is right about using oxygen for cutting copper even if it's thin. I have cut up to 0.125" with oxygen on a 4.0 Kw Amada Gemini. Hairy at one point but I did it. How bad is copper...
