I am considering using this op amp in a power supply design. OPA544T
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/opa544.pdf
The specs say it has a 2A minimum output current. Can someone clarify what "minimum" stands for.
Thanks, Mario
Thanks for the links itsmoked,
These seem to be reasonably priced, cost was the main issue with not getting a power amp. These amps say they have a "minimum" output. Does that mean they will not operate at less than the specified output current?
Thanks for the input,
Basically I am using a 5 or 10 volt reference to excite a resistive sensor with sense (feedback) lines. Since the voltage references provides only small currents I am using an opamp to pass the reference voltage. I need to be able to source about 150 mA. The op-amps I...
The above circuit represents my current configuration. The circuit is used to measure a ± 10.0 VDC signal.
R2 prevents my circuit from floating and provides a good high impedance.
R3 and R4 is a voltage divider that reduces the ±10.0 Volt signal.
Someone recommended on this forum, that...
I am using a precision 10 volt reference that is not capable of supplying enough current on it's own. The precision is necessary because the interface is not six wire and most sensors we supply are 4 wire
Are there any 10 regulators that can provide short circuit protection, and a stable...
The transducers are strain gauge and DC only voltages. Any frequencies will be from the Transducer mechanical vibration which are typically < 1000 Hz.
What I am trying to do is increase the output current to be able to drive more than one transducer (typical impedance is 350 ohms) and also...
Greetings,
I need to excite wheatstone bridge transducers with 10 volts. Currentely I have a single transistor providing current amplification from a 10 volt reference. The problem is that a short circuit will destroy the transistor. My idea is to use an op amp and a resettable fuse (which...
IRSTuff,
What would be good source to figure (on the net) out this topology. My electronics book from college didn't have that topology listed. Frankly I could probably calculate everything, but I haven't done that in a while
Below is my current design that is giving me problems.
Below is the old design which I based my current design on.
Notice I ommited C7,R8 on my particular design. Can someone shed light on the purpose of R8,C7 on the below design. BTW the old circuit as far as I was concerned did not have...
Do you have a series termination resistor between the Opamp output pin and the cable?
No, the output of the op-amp is directely connected to the output cable connector.
Are the inputs being driven by something that's powered by a separate and unrelated supply?
The inputs are being driven by...
I am using 0.1uF ceramic capacitors on the op-amp. And there is an output cable provided with our product.
My problem right now is that the failures are random. Some of the op-amps fail immediately, some after we ship them out, and some none at all.
What would be the best approach to test...
Greetings,
I've been experiencing sparodic op amp failure (shorting the power supplies is one failure) in one of my designs. The op-amp (OPA 2277) is being used as a buffer. I was made aware that it is possible to that the inputs are getting a voltage before the power supply pins are. What...
