I'm not sure how much of this you do because this isn't a great solution. You could dimension the item twice. Dimension it with your fit, then dimension again with limit. Hide the left dimension line of the fit tolerance, hide the right dimension line for the limit tolerance, then align the 2...
Siress, the solid sweep cut goes back to SW2008 or SW2009. I use it quite extensively with SW2010 right now. As Updraft said it has it limitations and it will slow down your file, but it does work. The biggest this is to keep your toolpaths as simple as possible so it may take several...
Thought of 1 more way, 1 feature for both chamfers. You might have to do calculation for your depth. The part is attached. As jboggs said, it all depends on how it will be fixtured and...
hit enter to quick, didn't get the file added. This is SW2010http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=b7a0be03-fa81-44ad-aef2-dddfa988b196&file=Chamfers.SLDPRT
On a plane perpendicular to what jboggs suggested at the depth of the chamfer, sketch a slot that is the root diameter of a 45 degree cutter and then cut extrude and apply an outward draft at 45 deg. You could also do a Swept Cut Solid. Create a solid revolve of your milling cutter, whether a...
Gary,
I don't use the annotation CL. Turn on the temporary axis, sketch a CL in your view, make it co-linear to the temporary axis. Works much better than the annotation CL.

Hi cbrf,
Sorry I can't help anymore. On occasion I get the same kind of surfaces out of the solid sweep cut. The only fix I have found is to make slight changes to the profile or path and sometimes it works. Obviously if your profile and path can't be changed there's not much that can be...
Hi cbrf,
Attached is a quick model I made, I think it takes care of the issues you were having but I'm not sure. I hope you have alot of computer for creating this model...
Below is the file in 2010, SP4. I did forget the one quirk of Solid sweep cut, it will not do the ID fillet without a workaround. It does an OD fillet (nose radius of the cutter) without a problem. If you look at my sketch of the cutter you will see the corner rounding radius as a...
Hi Rollup,
I use the Solid Swept-Cut quite a bit and have run into some quirky things but can usually make it work. I just tried the chamfer and fillet like yours and got it to work just fine. Make sure to click off the merge button when creating your endmill. Also, I would make the endmill...
Instead of linking dimensions, which I have had problems with in the past, I just use a construction line. Draw a construction line and constrain it to the origin with a midpoint. For your rectangle example you can draw a construction line from corner to opposite corner and constrain it with a...
Also, if you are planning on using a revolve, you will need a surface for that revolve to be on. So if you have a face you want the boss to protrude from, you will need a plane perpendicular to that face at the center of the boss you are creating.
