    Help Identify Spline

I don't have any experience with spline shafts and can't find anything online to help identify this one. It's the input end of a heavy duty hammer drill. 12 tooth. 0.7975" major and 0.672" minor diameter. Thanks...

    toolbox screw question

Updraft - I re-read your first post before mine. I definately lack in taking advantage of using patterns to place fasteners. I'm slowly getting better at that.

    Toolbox is SLOWWWWWW

GRF - Toolbox has been on my PC directly, a slow network drive, and another PC on the homegroup. None had any difference in performance. Updraft I think I am following items 1-3 to the best our design allows. I will review my model regarding item 4. I know of a couple places I can fix this...

    Toolbox is SLOWWWWWW

I am a new Solidworks user going on almost a year. We have been building an assembly which now has a couple thousand parts and almost 2000 fasteners (nuts/bolts/washers). We are at the point now where it takes 9-10 minutes to open our main assembly. That's understandable and bearable. The...

    toolbox screw question

If you're just changing the LENGTH of a toolbox fastener, you can highlight the fasteners, then click COMPONENT PROPERTIES. There should be a list of configurations (lenghts) to choose from. Pick the new length and you're done. I don't remember if this is necessary or would happen, but if the...

    edit line measurements

*Clarification* You CAN edit a line by clicking on it and viewing it's properties. You can type in the X-Y coordinates of it's endpoints but this is not the way you would want to start a new project.

    edit line measurements

No, in Draftsight, you cannot "edit" a line by retyping a length like you would in most 3D cad apps. As usual there are many ways of doing anything, but an important feature is the function keys, particularly F8. F8 restricts lines to vertical and horizontal lines. For what you want to do, I...

    Copy/Paste problems

I take that back. If I want to copy from one file to another, it works once. If I want to copy something else from another file, I need to shut down DS and reopen everything, then copy the new item. Otherwise it will copy old stuff - it won't let me copy something new.

    Copy/Paste problems

This has happened many times in the past, but just now I closed Draftsight and re-opened and things seem to behave properly (for now).

    Draftsight Copy/Past problem

Sorry about that. I saw one thread in this area about Draftsight and couldn't find the proper forum. Thanks. This can be deleted

    Copy/Paste problems

Has anybody come across a problem copying and pasting in Draftsight? If I copy some linework, it seems to paste something I had copied earlier and not the last thing I copied. If I switch to another draftsight file, it will then paste something else I had previously copied in that file (I really...

    Customized ToolBox Issue

I recently had problems adding a standard fastener that didn't exist in the Toolbox. After a lot of research from technical support we discovered that when adding or modifying, you need to ensure you have the right decimal places in each of the configurations' numbers. i.e. a "1" is different...

New Engineer in the Bearing World

I left aviation and am starting a new career in heavy machinery and need to learn about bearings. For starters I am designing a bearing housing for a self-centering bearing (PEER FH205-16) and need to figure out the tolerances needed for a proper fit. I know this is a pretty generic question -...
