I'm writing a program in VB5 where I want to save the contents of a multidimensional array and be able to open that file and fill the array with the saved data. I'm familar with how to open and save data generally but I don't know how to save an entire array all at once. Is there any method that...
I'm working on a project where I have to send data from my computer to a microcontroller through a serial port. I'm using the mscomm control which comes with vb5 to send the information. Some of the data I have to send to the microcontroller is single floating point numbers and as I understand...
Hi Greg and m777182,
I'm writing a sound analyzing program because I have some ideas about how to write some artificial intelligence programs and I want to see if I can write a speech recognition program that actually works well. But before I do that I want to graph certain features of sound...
It turns out a made a small mistake in how I wrote the program. Too small to produce an obviously wrong result but enough to knock my zero point off. I appreciate everybody's help on this.
Greg it is nice too see your interested in the same thing. What type of application are you writing a...
I just started writing a program that will graph different features of sound waves. At this point I've only writen code to graph the raw data from a uncompressed 16 bit wav file. The graph looks perfect and exactly how I would expect a sound wave to look but for some reason the zero point of the...
The pressure where the water is sprayed is going to be a little bit below atmospheric pressure. The size of the valve doesn't matter and it will be placed away from any hot gasses or parts. Although the water may in some cases be as hot as 150F or about 65C. There are really no voltage or...
I forgot to mention in case anybody is thinking of suggesting this. None of the existing electronic fuel injectors will work in this application and I think that I will be able to get a better response time and lower cost by using a water injection system I'm designing rather than try to design...
My bad, I should have mentioned that I already looked into that and there are no injectors that would work.
Here's why:
1) Water and fuels like gasoline and diesel have very different properties and will not spray the same out of a fuel injector. I think this has something to do with surface...
I'm building a new type of engine that uses a solenoid valve to control the spray of water into the engine. Having the valve open and close quickly is very important for timing. I am building the electronics to control this.
I was wondering why a solenoid needs time to energize and what...
I'm working on a new type of engine I invented. In part of the engine cycle water is injected to cool the gasses and create a vaccum. I am planning to use a solenoid valve to control the spraying of water into the engine. The timing for this is extremely important. What I need is a solenoid...
Thank you everybody for all the good suggestions. As soon as I have all the drawings finished I'm going to get some quotes on the different coatings you guys mentioned.
It appears though that the cheapest option for some parts would be to hardcoat anodize (which is slightly different from some...
One other idea I had. Does anybody know if hard anodized aluminium would work? I think they use it in hyraulic cylinders sometimes but I haven't hear of it being used in this application.
thanks
Thanks Terry that might be a good way to go for the prototype since I just need this to run for long enough to demonstrate the engine and dyno test it. Although I don't know if something that flakes off would be good when this eventually goes into production.
That is a good point schmidtj86...
