    Motoman NX100 serial communication protocol

I have quite a lot of experience using the Motocom32.dll files. This is for the XRC controller however, and may or may not relate to the NX100. Assuming it does you would need to purchase the motocom32 package from motoman which includes a security dongle to avoid non-licensed use.

    Leading edge

Leading edge means the timer starts when the signal is low then becomes high. Trailing edge means the timer starts when the signal is high then goes low

    Time study software

Out of interest what kind of machines? The company I work for invented all electric bending machines in order to reduce setup time compared with hudraulic machines

XP 32 bit on AMD Turion 64x2 - Mouse coursor freezes intermittently

Try re-installing drivers for mouse? Possibly re-installation of windows in the extreme. @IRStuff, I don't get why you reply to every post in the general computing forums with "post at tek-tips" a) why not give folk here the chance to reply first b) if this forum is not meant for such questions...

    programing a timer

What PLC? Are you sure the instance you are using is in the same units?

I need Toyota CAD Data - Any suggestions?

I agree with last poster. You are simply not going to get drawings and must reverse engineer

    comms check

You can get USB to serial converters (232/422/485) from easysync, they usually deliver next day. Programing-wise they are just like a standard comm port

    Computer hibernation with hardware connected

With robust drivers / software it *shouldn't* matter. However best is remain plugged in until power back up.

    Upgrading an existing servo system

Lots of people can do what you need, my curreny fave is baldor. Ask for stuart calvert

    For next loop on Compactlogix

I totally disagree with the last poster, using the same code makes perfect sense in many applications. However I agree with marshg 100%, and would like to add that you should learn ladder logic - it is incredibly simple

    home plc

S7-200 is more than capable for any "home" application IMHO. What advanced features do you think the OP requires that justifies spending extra cash? Also s7-200 is a damn site better than any modicon (again my personal opinion), some people love Modicon, I just don't see why.

    Multiplex Comm1 in PC

I would tell your customer that they need to upgrade the PC as part of the package. This will also give them a fall back position - should anything go wrong with the upgrade the existing system is unchanged. It will also make your life easier as much of the work can be done at base rather than...

What did we use before encoders?

    You mean potentiometer?
