    Filling in a column

You can simply grab the bottom right corner of the cell (the cursor will turn into cross hairs) and drag to fill the blank cells. Another way is to double-click on the lower right corner of the cell (once the cursor is cross hairs). The only caveat is that if you only have 1 cell filled with...

EPC vs OEM = Superficial Engineering vs Real Engineering?

romulus2009, you sure seem to know how the real world works already, so why waste your time asking for advice from a bunch of old-curmudegons that don't seem to understand? It sounds like you've already made you decision that only OEM's are real engineers, and systems folks couldn't hold a...

    How do I become employable

When interviewing with potential engineering employers, you may want to re-think your explanation of not wanting to "put all your eggs in one basket" when they ask you why you became a pilot even though you graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. Some may take that as being...

    variable resistance with current

Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC)... If current gets too high, the resistance goes way up. Unfortuatnely they are "big". (My size reference is 0201 SMD components though ;))

    Circuitry for Tachometer

So what is the range on your A/D? What is the range on the output from the tach? If max output is higher than max input, use a voltage divider. If max input is higher than max output, use an amplification circuit.

    Capability for low sample sizes

Admittedly, I haven't bothered to review the calculations for process capability (C/Pp, C/Pk, & C/Ppk) is quite some time, but from what I remember, the calculations are based on the number of sample. In other words, you should be able to get a value with 10-12 samples. It also depends on your...

    FAILURE RATES FRO COAX SWITCHES

It will depend on the application, right? Is the cable in a non-static enviornement, i.e. large temperature swings, always bending / moving, etc.. Did you contact the COAX manufacturer?

resistor in parallel with transistor base_emitter

If I understand your description, the Base-Emitter resistor is used to create a voltage divider with the base resistor. This voltage divider will guarentee that the transistor is turned on hard.

Is it possible that the container with this supply in it was dropped?

    Self Esteem

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are correct.

Is given value, a part of distribution

A random number is always part of any distribution... Depending on the distribution, the value may be very statistically improbable, but never identically zero.

Mechanical Engineer needs relay or diode

Based on your size and power requirement, it sounds like a transistor is what you need (PNP or PMOS). Bias the transistor off of some output voltage from your circuit. In other words, if the circuit is outputting voltage, which means it is working, disable the transistor bypass. Ensure you...
