Does anyone know the thermal and mechanical properties of Loctite UV 3211 (cured)? Setting up a thermal stress model.
The tech support from Loctite does not provide such information, apparently. I tried doing a google search for acrylated urethane aka AA 3211.
I would greatly appreciate anyone...
I am interested in seeking one's experience between these two software simulation packages. If you had to choose one or the other, which one is most user friendly, covers the most automation designs senerio and high productivity for meeting customer design turn around. Thank you for input.

Hi Folks,
Does anyone have any data on electrical contact resistance for graphite to copper as well as graphite to graphite. The surface finish is spec out to 1.6 surface finish for graphite and 0.8 surface for the copper. Meaning smooth surfaces for low psi contact of 27 psi.
Thank you for...
Hi Folks,
I am interested in knowing if anyone has experience converting electrical resistance (ohms/area) to thermal conductance (Power/(area*K)) or (W/m^2K). I need to this mechanical world for performing thermal simulations and I have found a chart on contact pressure as function of...
Hi,
I was given the load vs displacement of a rubber dog bone sample off of an instrom tester. FEA SW such as Abaqusa and SoildWorks requires the stress strain data. My question is can I simple divide the original undeformed cross sectional area into the Load to obtain the stress. Similarly for...
I am looking for a recommendation on how to attach a polypropylene fim to PP part. The PP part is a cylinder and wish to close the end off by making it a hermatically sealed to pp film. Can you heat stake or is it called heat sealing to melt pp film to the pp part? Recommendation of a company to...
I am looking for a medical grade film that can be heat stake to polypropylene (PP) material or heat sealed. Film material can have a metallic layer for mvtr characteristic. Another film material, can be food grade for example what is foil seal on yogurt containers. Thank you for help.
Hi,
I am working a new project that involves deformation of glass from given loads on the order of 0.1 to 1 nanometer.
Does Ansys or Cosmos have the capability to capture this level of resolution?
Thank you for the help!
I am trying to understand in further detail why helical gears are smoother and quieter over spur gears. What is the physics that differentiates "smoother" and "quieter"? Curious because many printer designs use helical gears over spur gears supposedly for better motion quality.
Please help...
