We have an application for a 50%CO/50%H2 gas compressor. Are there any 'funnies' I need to watch out for?
Are flanged joints OK or does the high CO toxicness require welded pipe? Is carbon steel OK or would you need stainless or better?
I know the hazardous area will be gas group 11C for the...
why in natural gas sytems (say 98% methane 30 barg 5000 kg/h 50C) does there seem to be an engieering standard for 4inch line size for thermowells, thermowells with RTD or T/C conected back to a transmitter only measure at the tip so why cant the line size be 2 or 3inch?
Good advice from DSB123 , dont use box section as you cannot see whats in side, it will corrode......experience tells you this dispite what anyone may try and tell you otherwise. If you have to cut it ouit and replace it every few years due to corrosion its not any cheaper

If this is custody transfer then you will almost certainly need other equipment besides the meter
Normally with gas you pay for the energy flow not the volume flow (even domestic although they assume a standard energy per volume figure)as such you will need to know the volume flow which you get...
Try any of the following Chromalox (USA), Watlow (USA), Heatex (UK) - they all do hazardous area electric heaters
www.chromalox.com
www.watlow.com
www.heatex.co.uk
you will have to trawl through the websites but I suggest just give the local sales agent a call may be the easiest option
hope...
Just be careful remember if you choose the wrong one and it blows the entire plant up its going to cost a lot more than US 1800 to put right.
You also need to consider the PSV's vendors experience in natural gas plants etc.... have they got good quality control... can you get the documents you...
Adam,
Where is your power station?
I am aware of compresosr oil being supplied into main gas lines from faulty or not correctly operated gas compressors. I doubt if you will ever get the gas supplier to admit this is there fault, if they did they would have to install equipment for every end...
Why do you need a different method of mercury removal than adsorption? I beleive this is the most common technique and there are basically two european companies who can supply the catalyst bed (at least I only know 2)
We are supplying the Mercury Removal package for the Buzzard Field Offshore...
Rather than heating all the tank and maintaining the temperature would an in-line heater provide a better solution?
This would only heat the water you are using.
This may not be suitable for your application but worth a mention

we are going down the road of the noise enclosure - thats no problem. except our client for some reasons doesnt really want one
You are correct that there are '000's of ariel machines but you try getting operating data - Blood and stone - also Areil dont seen to keep any (which is helpful)...
its a recip compressor ARIEL type, ARIEL won't gurantee the noise and we can't test on natural gas.
We have best estimates as to what the noise will be but how can we guarantee on this level. Also as we have to built it before we test it, even on air or nitrogen (natural gas testing not...
I'm a process engineer looking for some 'simple' guidance
We have a compresor package, electric motor driven less than 350 kW for natural gas
I understand there is an EU directive on sound power and pressure noise limits, but how do we meet these requirments, we can't test the package till we...
does anyone know a UK or european company that does fire water pump skids, not just the pumps the full skid, diesel pump and electric pumps and jockey pumps
Its for an onshore gas plant
appreciate any contact names, only lloking for budgetary information at this stage
