    ADS STORMWATER PRODUCTS

We've had a handful of recent projects where the engineer used ADS (stormtech) underground storage systems. Our most recent one was a grocery store and was approved on the first submittal to both the city and wmd. The ADS folks will even help with the design. We had them out twice and they...

    Free contour maps

The seamless usgs server allows you to select your project site and it will cut out the area from whatever data you have selected (doqq, quad, dem, etc.) seamless.usgs.gov Of course it's not good to use this data for final design purposes, but it can give you a general idea.

    cut fill to target elevations

I would suggest asking this question at theswamp.org in the vertical > land lubber forum.

    Road Design

There are several packages available now. If you already are familiar with AutoCAD your best bet would be to go with Civil 3D. You may also want to look into others like Carlson and Cadian.

    Sheet set question

When you say the sheet set do you mean a file of the drawings such as a .pdf or .dwf or do you simply mean the sheet list? What version are you using? I'm on '08 and if you want the sheet list one way to extract it would be to insert the list into AutoCAD by right-clicking the sheet set name >...

    Background mask

You can change this in the Properties box/palette after selecting them. I would use qselect to select them and then go to the Properties box/palette and set this.

    Importing coordinate data from Excel

You might look into the object enablers as well. It sounds like that may be what you need. Go to the Autodesk site and in the search box type "land desktop object enablers" or "civil 3d object enablers" and look for your version of AutoCAD in the results. These are simple to download and install...

    Importing coordinate data from Excel

If using Civil 3D or Land Desktop you simply import the points. If using regular AutoCAD you'll likely have to use a different method involving a lisp.

USING A BLOCK AS A MOLD TOOL

Sure. Give it a shot. You can always UNDO if you get undesired results.

    Importing coordinate data from Excel

What software are you using specifically?

    CAD QUESTION

Have you asked for a seat of Civil 3D? If not you should. Otherwise I'd ask a coworker who has Civil 3D to do it for me or allow me to do it on their computer. It doesn't take long to do. Threaten with bodily harm if necessary. ;-)

    creating a tri-mesh from points acad 2008

I guess I should've asked... Are you running straight AutoCAD or one of the specialized versions such as Land Desktop?

    creating a tri-mesh from points acad 2008

I have never used AGTEK, but I'm guessing they want you to create a surface from the points. You can do this if you have Autodesk Land Desktop, but I don't believe you could with straight AutoCAD.
