Copy command makes a copy of all entities to active layer

When I use the copy command in Draftsight 2018, it copies all the entities to the active layer. I know there is an option to turn this on and off but whether I have it on or off, it still does this. Thanks! Sean Kadant Carmanah Design Vancouver, BC www.kadantcarmanah.com

When a file is put into a certain state, is there any way to flag it another colour?

When a file is put into a certain state, is there any way to flag it another colour? For example, we have an Obsolete state that is not visible to any department except for Engineering. For an Engineering user though, we'd like these files to be obviously visible that they're in an Obsolete...

    Toolbox Network Location Moved

That's what I thought too and I've changed that location but it still doesn't work. I've now discovered that I can right-click and open a suppressed faster, keep it open, go back to the assembly and unsuppress the fastener. Not the ideal way since each unique fastener type has been done...

    Toolbox Network Location Moved

Due to a restructuring process from our IT department, our Toolbox library was moved to a new folder on or shared network. Sames drive just a different folder. I expected all Toolbox components to show as suppressed when opening an older assembly file but I'm not able to unsuppress and select...

    AutoCAD BOM Conversion

MikeHalloran, that seems to be our number one option right now. Thanks. Sean Kadant Carmanah Design Vancouver, BC www.carmanahdesign.com

    AutoCAD BOM Conversion

Yeah that's what I figured. I think exporting the text into an Excel spreadsheet using a LISP routine is going to be our best option. Thanks for the answer JNieman. Sean Kadant Carmanah Design Vancouver, BC www.carmanahdesign.com

    AutoCAD BOM Conversion

We are currently using AutoCAD 2004 as our 2D software. Our BOMs are just pieces of "dtext" for the different attributes (Material/Quantity/Description) within a grid of lines to represent a table all within the AutoCAD drawing. (Hopefully that wasn't a confusing description. I can provide an...

Closing a single window in AutoCAD

Thanks for the input. shaggyco07: I understand the two x's. My issue is when I click on the bottom x, it closes AutoCAD completely. TodPapillion: I've tried switching back and forth between these options too with no luck. I think I'm going to try the old "reinstall" and see if there was some...

Closing a single window in AutoCAD

IFRs, yes that seems to behave normally too. Maybe I'll just get in the habit of using that command rather than clicking the X with my mouse. Sean Carmanah Design & Manufacturing Inc. Vancouver, BC www.carmanahdesign.com

Closing a single window in AutoCAD

Follow up: typing the command "close" doesn't produce this issue at all. Weird Sean Carmanah Design & Manufacturing Inc. Vancouver, BC www.carmanahdesign.com

Closing a single window in AutoCAD

I'm having an issue closing just one drawing/window at a time. When I close my current drawing AutoCAD attempts to close ALL open drawings in AutoCAD. It will bring up the "Save Changes.." dialogue box if there is a change or just close it without warning if there isn't a change. Then it will...

    Weldment Assembly Feature

Perfect, don't know why I didn't think of that. Too much work lately. THanks Sean Carmanah Design & Manufacturing Inc. Vancouver, BC www.carmanahdesign.com

    Weldment Assembly Feature

Hello, Is there a way to create a feature (in this case a set of holes using Hole Wizard) that is done at the "assembled" level of a weldment. My example is that I've got two "legs" on one side of my design that are wide flanges and show up as one item in the cut list. I want to drill a few...

    NPT Thread Metric Equivalent

Oops I meant to say that we are making a new part and will drill and tap this hole new. Sorry 'bout that. Sean Carmanah Design & Manufacturing Inc. Vancouver, BC www.carmanahdesign.com
