Thanks very much for the link. It definitely works. With the exception of postbuilder though. I really appreciate all of the advice.

I have had some experience at deliberately retarding the ignition timing on the dyno for testing purposes. The first thing that is impacted is the exhaust. Generally the exhaust headers will start to glow an orange color and eventually we stuck an exhaust valve. All of this and...
Well, I recently installed NX4 on Windows 7 and came to the realization that I would have to install the FLEXnet licensing option on a networked computer running XP in order to work. Now I only have one problem/question. Since my license file is tied to my client machine via the MAC address...
There are also two different types of probing. One is for part inspection and the other is for reverse engineering. Big difference.

Thanks Ben,
I know it should work but with my luck, I can't even get it to install properly yet...

Is anyone running NX4 or any version of NX on Windows 7? If so, what did you have to do to get it to install correctly? When installing my license server for NX4, it doesn't want to start the server.
Thanks,

The only way that I know to do this is with a third party application that interfaces with NX. There is only one company that I know of that does this and it is quite expensive for their software.

While I hate to be a little negative, if you have bad credit, can you explain to me one thing? How do you intend to purchase the equipment you will need to be able to produce the products you envision? A simple 4-axis CNC is not a cheap investment for a quality piece. Just thinking...

If you think a shop makes money gas porting a set of pistons, tell me how much you charge because it is not a money making proposition. You have to contend with breaking a drill bit off and making sure you get half the diameter of the drill bit into the back of the ring land...
Dicer, are you saying that those machines have an articulting head?

When you can tilt the tool, the workpiece is usually in a stationary position. In other words, the tool revolves around the part. This has given me the ability to have a more accurate and better surface finish.

My machine does the same thing. This is usually automatically built into the controller of your machine.

Actually guys, the speeds and feeds are mostly determined by the type of machine being used. If you have a machining center that has a relatively low hp spindle motor, you need the higher speeds and feeds. Example would be a spindle motor of 7.5hp vs one with a 15hp.

You mention comparing a Carillo vs OEM I beam, how many OEM H beam rods are you aware of? The original question was comparing H beam to I beam. Someone mentioned Carillo and I do have direct knowledge of this product and others.

bigpaul is right on his statement. That is why you should always test the actual parts you are going to be using when flow testing the cylinder head. It is not unusual for airflow to drop by 20 to 50cfm when you test a head with the intake manifold attached vs. a radiused flow entry plate...
