    LITHIUM HYDRIDE METAL COMPATIBILITY

Yes, material is Lithium Hydride. The application involves hot die pressing powder in a contained and controlled environment. Some literature suggests pure iron due to its affinity to stainless steel and other metals, ie nickel or chrome. But that is when the material is being manufactured &...

    LITHIUM HYDRIDE vs METAL COMPATIBILITY

WOULD ANYONE HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT METALS AND/OR COATINGS THAT CAN BE USED WITH LiH WITHOUT SIGNIFICANT REACTION/CORROSION, ESPECIALLY AT TEMPERATURE. OR IF THERE IS LiH COMPATIBILITY TABLE AVAILABLE SOMEWHERE? THANKS

WOULD ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT WHAT METALS OR COATINGS THAT CAN BE USED WITH LiH WITHOUT SIGNIFICANT REACTION, ESPECIALLY AT TEMPERATURE. OR IF THERE IS A LiH COMPATIBILITY CHART AVAILABLE SOMEWHERE. I'LL ALSO TRY CHEM ENG FORUM. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

    Solid Polymer List and properties

I am looking for a list of Hydrocarbon based Solid Polymers, where I can select materials with low melting points (below 60°C) and a relatively low Heat of fusion...maybe less than Paraffin wax for example. I want to select a material to be used as a binder with other powdered materials and have...

    Sealed N2 Cylinder High Pressure

I feel I've taken a crash course in part of the subject matter. Thank you very much for your efforts! Will update you if things progress.

    Sealed N2 Cylinder High Pressure

The vessel geometry and material would essentially be identical each time +/-0.05mm. Size would only be on the scale of 1 to 2 inch pipe and 6 to 8 inches length machined from Inconel 625 solid bar stock. Geometry may be an acceptable variable but I hadn't thought about these other many...

    Sealed N2 Cylinder High Pressure

This is important. There would be plenty of instrumentation used to obtain data and once a baseline was established, having a repeatable trial is ideal. We would like to minimize variables and have control over a duration trials with incremental revisions of our choosing. Thanks.

    Sealed N2 Cylinder High Pressure

Hello iainuts, thank you for your time. I concur with your hesitation. My primary field of work is in the realm of explosive physics R&D and largely in turn, the development of protective structures, systems, protection of frontline and first responders, protective garments and methods of...

    Sealed N2 Cylinder High Pressure

Thanks for your advice. Do you have any thoughts on how one would set up a simple gravity fed system to fill the cylinder? I am unfamiliar with LN liquid withdrawal devices and LN circulating systems. I was thinking of a high pressure 3 way shut off valve somewhere close to the cylinder.

    Sealed N2 Cylinder High Pressure

If LN is poured or syphoned into a strong cylinder under ambient pressure so that it is full then the cylinder is sealed and left to warm to room temperature, will the contents all turn to gas at high pressure? Does the high pressure force any of the N to remain in liquid form? Can someone...

    Extreme Pressures and Cryogenic Fittings/Materials

Hello again, Thanks for the input...I've done some calcs and my application seems reasonable but now I'm considering the design of fluid handling and filling apparatus. I am a little worried about procedures also as this will be disconnected from the filling apparatus. Can anyone provide some...

    Extreme Pressures and Cryogenic Fittings/Materials

Looking for suitable material/fittings. From what I've seen Cryogenics typically involves low pressure. This is involving high pressures. This is not the actual application but does cover the range of requirements. Essentially, I want to fill a small custom cylinder (1" ID approx) temperature...

    Index of refraction

Simple Web search gets this info . If anyone cares, methyl salicylate has an index of refraction of 1.522. Cheers!

    Index of refraction

I would like to ask if there are any sources on obtaining the index of refraction for various chemicals. In particular, I am interested in Methyl Salicylate (2-HOC6H4COOH3). If any one has this information I would greatly appreciate it.
