I have heard that there is some special paint which is used on the way that some part is painted (e.g. beam) and then loaded by force. WHat happen is that paint change it color and that color spectrum can be compared to some kind of stress comparison chart to evaluate results.

We have been using "Duramax" rubber journal bearing/bushing and pump is pumping clean water at max 150F, 10000usgpm @ 100ft, 1780rpm. Where can I find or how to calculate expected bearing life on rubber journal bearing? What would be expected time frame for replacement?
