I apologize if this isnt the correct plastic forum, but it was the closet I could find...
I'm in need of a plastic recommendation for a design. For all intents and purposes it can be thought of as a wiper for a wire rope. I need:
-High wear/abrasion resistence
-Some degree of natural...
Let me be a bit more specific in case anyone can offer more advice...
This will be done on a mill, through a drill bushing, clamped down in a fixture, through .25" 6061 T6 Alum material, with a .375" drill +/- .001 at worst, manually added oil.
Just a simple question:
Whats the best drill bit for drilling 6061 T6 aluminum with the highest accuracy? (what kind, tip, etc)
I've designed a tooling fixture to do some operations in-house to save money and by having an accurate bit, will also save steps. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

After re-reading the whole thread, just wanted to reiterate my point: the problem is just uncertainty due to lack of experience. A lot of times everything can be saved by just a 2 minute question. Provide a human (mentor) resource in engineering. Encourage them to talk to assembly, welders, etc...
I still am pretty much a novice engineer. I must repeat what epoisses said, "there's no substiture for hands-on training", you must get your feet wet to swim. The biggest compliment to this, is having a mentor type engineer who is very patient (big key) that can answer questions and check work...
I usually end up either making a work plane, or sketching off one of the origin planes. Since its a tube, it shouldnt really matter which one you pikc. Then you should be able to get the desired hole.
Why cant Inventor 10, or any Inventor for that matter, output an .eps file directly?
I always have to save it to a .dxf, open with AutoCAD, save as .eps, open with Illustrator, then save as legacy .eps to finally insert it in Word or where ever. What gives?
And for that matter, how do I delete...
