Hi guys,
Bit of a novice with Project and it is doing something weird that is stumping me. I have assigned some resources as materials - say about 12 different items. I assign these to their relevant tasks, save and close the project and all seems well. At a later date I have then come to use...
Yalkamer,
Confession time - I'm Principal Design Engineer for Severn Unival. I just didn't want to come across as selling as I firmly believe we can help meet your requirements.
You are right we do mainly valves O&G sector predominantly in the North Sea and the Middle East, but elsewhere...
Hello chaps,
Norsok M-710 standard, relating to non-metallic seals, applies to subsea systems and topside critical gas systems.
I have looked everywhere I can think of, and am now stuck; what do Norsok define as a "critical gas system"? Is it only those used for isolation for example...
If it is a control valve that you are after, Severn Glocon / Severn Unival have manufactured valves to API10000 and 15000 (so up to 15000 psi rated) from block forgings and hipped material. They specialise in 1-offs, so may be able to help with an ANSI 4500 rated valve.
One of my Design Engineers has just come to me with the included edges dropping out within a simple part - let alone within the part copy or assembly environment. His system is not on MP6.
From our point of view the Include command is fundamentally flawed.
Okay fair enough - we model our cores separately if using this as the forms do not follow too closely.
Not 100% sure if this would work as I haven't tried it, but I can see no reason why it shouldn't...
Model the core then part copy it in to a new model and thicken/refernce the core to form...
Rebooted PC and assembly components were then fine!! What a farce.
Two of us updated to MP6 and found the include issues, but let's be honest the include command in SE has been an absolute bag of s**t from day 1 - it struggles to update properly (especially when including edges from...
Having major issues with assembling things for example dragging a component into an asm and then being told that every assembly relationship I try to make is not possible due to conflicts (impossible as there aren't any!) and also receiving circular dependency errors in components that have no...
So basically you are wanting to model the tool, from the model of the original component?
Use the Boolean operation, as detailed in the post below.

Jon
Just tried it and it works fine - create a part model of the casting envelope, create a separate part of the casting core and then part-copy the core model into the envelope model (or part-copy both into a new part model if you prefer).
Click Boolean (under Replace Face on the Surfacing tab)...
Hi Chaps,
We are having some CFD flow analyses done of some of our CAD assemblies and the company undertaking this are importing the CAD files into Gambit to create the mesh for the CFD (as I understand it anyway).
We are using Solid Edge and the method I have used to try and simplify the...

Hi guys,
I'm looking for any help that you are able to offer with respect to obtaining tensile test data for A182 F44 down to a cryogenic temperature of -101°C (or -150°F for our cousins who (for now ;-)) still cling to the old ways!).
I need this data to be able to run some design...
