    Need some battery connection suggestions.

Not sure I completely understand what you mean, but if you have batteries that have a .560"diam x 2" post then maybe you could drill out a JIS pencil post terminal clamp to .560".

Miami Beach, Champlain Towers South apartment building collapse, Part 06

Re: Penagwin (Computer)14 Jul 21 04:49 New video of the balconies was just released showing more wear on the balconies. I'm no SE, but it seems like there're an awful lot of pictures where the rebar is really close to the bottom. Did they design it that way to make the slab as thin as...

Miami Beach, Champlain Towers South apartment building collapse, Part 05

I have a 2 ton and a 3 ton a/c on the concrete roof of my single family home in a hurricane zone. I have no doubt they would've blown over on the first windy day without being bolted down, but chances are the tubing and wiring would have kept them from going far. Plus they weigh maybe 100-150...

Table Saw runs on a regular breaker but not an AFCI breaker

Does it trip a GFCI? Maybe the saw has a ground fault.

BigH, The trail building guide is great. I've been involved in mountain bike and hiking trail building and the guide makes for great reading. Thanks.

    Sensor issues

Maybe its not really the sensor. Maybe you're overrunning your counter and when you power-down to clean the sensor it resets the counter. Have you tried just re-booting when you have the problem without touching the sensor? Otherwise it sounds like a problem with the mounting bracketry if you...

    Bearings extraction from BLDC motor

Based on the picture, what's the chance of that shaft being in good enough shape to reuse anyway?

Hi , we are developing the blister

The aluminum lid stock is excellent. I still think a laminate barrier film is what you need. Sadly I don't have any experience in Europe, but clearly they have plenty of quality suppliers. Maybe contact a machine manufacturer like Kiefel in Germany and see if they can recommend a good company...

Hi , we are developing the blister

Laminated films can deliver good formability and barrier properties. You may need multiple plies to get what you need. A good thermoformer or extruder should be able to help. Is this a peelable package? What are you using as lid stock? What part of the world are in?

480 VAC VFD Power - Do I need an Enclosure & Disconnect?

You also want the disconnect to be lockable so your customer can comply with lockout/tagout.

Hi , we are developing the blister

How many are you going to make? My feelings: There are a ton of thermoforming companies with ISO 11607 certification, cleanrooms and lots of experience. I can't imagine your volume is large enough to warrant doing it yourself and if you try to design and develop it's likely to cause more trouble...

Replacement of Mercury Switches in Industrial Settings

We replaced mercury contactors with SSRs in the 90s or so and we were probably late doing it. Don't forget to dispose responsibly, too.

480 VAC VFD Power - Do I need an Enclosure & Disconnect?

IMHO, it needs fuses or CB somewhere and a lockable disconnect within sight. There are some rules about lockable disconnecting means out of sight that I don't remember, but I wouldn't consider it myself. And everything in an enclosure with conduit ( EMT, liquidtite, etc.) Nothing exposed.

    Small scale water turbine generator

True enough, flow is really hard to estimate by eye, at least for me.

    Small scale water turbine generator

energy.gov has a formula for residential size hydro: Watts = Head(ft) * GPM / 10 So 500 watts at 15ft gives 333 GPM. His system looks pretty goofy( using the ground wire on UF as a current carrying conductor, venturi effect suction, etc) but it seems like he's actually doing pretty well.
