Yes it is in the center with no eccentric loading concerns. The thread depth is about 8 mm minimum. What I plan to do currently is use Dow Corning 321 dry film lube and mate the thing.

Silicone Rubber Question:
I know this is an awkard question but, I got asked it from an aerospace customer about how silicone rubber wire seals react to what is called urich acid.
In other words, how does silicone rubber react to urine?
