Pump Head Calculation - 1 Pump pumping to 2 locations

LittleInch, thanks for your reply. As far as pressure drops in the 1" line, the only losses are the friction through the pipe and fitting. If I find that there isn't enough head at the 2"/1" junction, how do I increase the head at that tee location?

Pump Head Calculation - 1 Pump pumping to 2 locations

Hoping for a little help. I have a system that will be using 1 pump that will pump to two branches. In this system, we’re pumping a total of 42gpm of water, 40 gpm flows through 2" SCH80 pipe to a scrubbing tower. There is a tee off of the 2" pipe that flows 2 gpm through 1" SCH80 pipe that goes...

    Flow Turbulence

LittleInch, not being shy regarding the flowrate. I asked the client to provide. Still waiting for an answer. I was thinking about straightening vanes, but the perforated flow conditioner is a great idea. Thanks. Bimr, filter runs are typically 6 hours.

    Flow Turbulence

bimr & Rputvin: Inside the filter is a nest of hundreds of tubes that hang down from an upper plate. Each tube is coated with a filter media. There is a baffle on the inside of the filter that intended to redirect the flow through the center of the filter theoretically spreading the flow move...

    Flow Turbulence

Thanks for your reply 1503-44. The optimum flowrate of the filter is 2100 gpm. The headloss is about 26ft.

    Flow Turbulence

Hello: A client is complaining that there is excessive turbulence inside a filter as the water enters the vessel and is asking what to do about it. Attached is a drawing they provided of the piping arrangement. My first observation was two things. It seems they are reducing the pipe size very...

    Rolled Angle Ring as flange

Has anyone ever done any calculations to use a a rolled angle as a flange for bolting a head to a shell? This is not an ASME vessel and I’m just looking for a calculation method to be able to calculate the quantity and size of bolt holes and checking the thickness to use a rolled angle as a...

    Rolled Angle Flange Desing

I'm looking for some help to determine the size and quantity of stainless steel bolts for a flanged joint as shown in the attachment. The flange is for joining the head and body of a non-code pressure filter. The head and body flanges are rolled leg out from 2"x2"x3/8" 304L stainless steel angle...

    Rectangular Tank Design

I'm needing to design a rectangular tank under hydrostatic pressure. I've been looking at procedures in "Design of Weldments" by Blogett, "PV Handbook", and a procedure I downloaded. The dimensions of my tank are 72"Hx72"Wx243"L made from A36 Carbon Steel. Every procedure starts out by...

    Intake Louver Sizing

Dbill74: Thank you for you reply, it was very helpful. One question, If our goal is to maintain temperature, does the number of air changes needed come into play in determining the louver size?
