Since Version 7 Etabs has been a gui program with an interface similar to other CSI software, SAP2000 and Safe, I don't think you can find it easier than it but it is lacking some things. For now you have to assign the pier section manually (don't know why) but other than that the program works...
The new Sap V8 is going to have cold formed sections design. It is still under development as for version 8.1.1 and I don't think is working correctly. Safe it is a very good intuitive software and works great! The newest version is 7.01.
