I am designing a composite concrete bridge deck slab supported on plate girders by FEM.
My question is:
The output shear being a contour map, design for the peak value is apparently too conservative. How much wide of a strip of the slab should I take the average for design?
Thanks
In applying Canadian bridge code to the design of a retaining wall, there is a clause 6.9.3 on compaction surcharge. Are we supposed to consider this surcharge during construction stage only? or construction and service stages?
Thanks
In this problem, apparently the prestressing force at both ends is not self-equilibrated. There should be some reactions at the supports under this prestressing load case only.
Sap gives 0 reaction.
I think this is a bug.
Is there any way I can calculate the shear+bending deformation together when a lateral force is not acting on the shear centre of the section (there should be torsion automatically)? assumng the default point of load is at centre of gravity.
Thanks
How do I synchronize two windows, one showing deformation and the other showing bending moment diagram, of the same push-over step?
Sap 2000 has the ability, as per Habibullah.
Thanks in advance.
In steady-state dynamic analysis, there is a deformation response factor Rd which is defined as ratio of amplitude to static deformation;and Ra , ratio of amplitude of acceleration to acceleration due to force p0 acting on mass m.
My question is : is there any physical explanation for Rv?
Thanks
