Each Mill has their own Gravimetric feeder where the weight measurement done.
We done all the measurements. There are two units of 250 MW. both have the same problem..
Is it possible that PA is taking the least resistance path to Mill AB and EF? Is it possible to create artificial resistance...
Dear All,
I am working in a 250MW Coal power plant. This power plant has 3 Tube mills. normally 2 are in service. These mills named as AB, CD, and EF.
The problem is whenever I take Mill CD in service. It consumes more power than other mills (Mill rating is 2350 kw, Mill AB and EF takes around...
hermit47,
What is component number? Does it relates to number of stages in a turbine.
Also it seems to me that the pressure lines are parallel to each other in most part of the expansion. That means apart from low pressure region the expansion at different pressure will be same?
hermit47,
Please see the attached HMBD for 60MW case.

Hermit47,
The HP turbine exhaust is connected to moisture separator which is connected to reheater. After reheating the steam enters inside the LP Turbine. HP Heater 1 extraction is at 36 bar, 256 degree C, and flow is 5.2 kg/s. The Deaerator and other HP heater take extraction from the HPT...
Thanks hermit47
Few more questions:
1. I know the turbine upstream pressure. But will the HP Turbine downstream pressure will remain same ( I mean the HPT exhaust pressure is 23 bar when the HPT inlet pressure was 98 bar. Now what happens when the inlet pressure goes down to 75 bar? I know...
hermit47,
Could you please tell me more about the Turbine constant. I am not aware of it. Also how did you come to a number 221.8 kg/s and 39.5 MW? as I mention it is a HP-LP combination turbine. The total mass flow rate at the inlet of the turbine is 70 kg/s.

Could you please...
hermit47,Turbine will produce less power. are you sure?
because my temperature remains same. Therefore actually the inlet enthalpy will increase little bit. Theoretically the power output might be same?
But what about the kinetic energy turbine needed for driving force. As I understand the...
Dear All,
I am estimating a future problem while still in erection phase for 60 MW steam turbine. I may need your help to estimate a solution.
Due to some reason my process heater is not able to generate steam at the desired pressure (other parameters are remain same). Therefore I want to...
Its a coincidence that both are 900kW. But they are different.
Thanks BigInch, Yes you are correct.
There are 2 streams
Stream 1: Heat Transfer Fluid : HTF Pumps it through solar field, get some heat, and then passes through the Steam Generator and transfer energy to Water/Steam
Stream 2...
Artisi,
You are combining 2 different posts..
This VFD is for Boiler Feed Pump while the other pump was HTF (High Temp Fluid) pump..So both are independent and flowing different liquid in different circuit.
The Pressure in Steam Generator is 110 bar(a)
Its 3000 RPM (please see the 1st post Frequency is mention as 50Hz). Does it matter whether its 50Hz or 60Hz frequency?
The pump flow rate is 150 m3/hr. it's a BB5 pump.
Let me know if any more details needed.
Hello Everyone,
Can anybody suggest me whether it is useful of adding VFD in Boiler feed pump in a power plant.
I gone through the details. I understand the advantages of VFD but not sure about the overall burden of VFD on O&M cost.
The overall cost of VFD is almost equal to the cost of Motor...
