Sounds like a long way around some of our major problems. I'm wondering if AutoCAD has fixed this issue in 2005. I have a license of 2005, but have yet to install and use. Might be the next thing to do.
well, its not the memory setting. Right now there is 756 set aside, so that eliminates that. I'm trying some configuration settings with the video card. Seems like it could be a refresh rate problem, or something along that lines. Will let everyone know on this post. Any suggestions please...
What is min. page file memory size should the system be running on. I haven't checked yet, mainly to get an idea, plus when I do check I can make sure I set it accordingly.
All workstations are Windows XP, 512m of ram, video cards have 128mb of ram and the drivers have been downloaded off from web. Just wondering if the video card is not fully compatible. Seems very weird, I don't have that problem, but again, my machine is a ton different. Has anybody...
Need some help on troubleshooting why AutoCAD 2004 crashes when trying to move objects. Any time an object is either moved, stretched, or copied the system will do a fatal error and then shut down. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that the blocks that are being moved are from version...
make sure you have no spaces in your bitmap file name. Also, try moving the folder with your custom toolbar to autocad's support folder and then update your support file search path in autocad. I had some luck with customizing toolbars and moving them to another location.
G.L.
What version of AutoCAD are you running? Is the toolbar your own custom bar with custom icons or a autodesk toolbar with your own custom buttons on it?
I somewhat agree with your ideas as to uninstall to figure out what application is using the same port. On the other hand, if that application is causing the problem you are still going to need to configure the ports to work on separate IRQ #'s. The BIOS is the only place I know how to change...
Another helpful suggestion is to plug your .mnu file into your AutoCAD folder under
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2004\R16.0\enu\Support
After copying it there, load it from this location and then check to see if it stays. G.L.
After your load your menu in. Try creating a new profile in the preferences area, and export it out just in case you need to reload it back in. Could be the default profile, is not allowing you to update itself. After you create a new profile, it should load the new profile everytime.
Have you looked under Device Manager? If not do so, but you will need to get into more depth. Click on the ports you are trying to figure out and look under resources. It will tell you if there are conflicts and what IRQ it is using. You may have to change this in your BIOS.
First off, what version of AutoCAD are you running? Your menus for AutoCAD are located under Program Files, AutoDesk, or AutoCAD; Support. There you should find acad.mnu (the standard autocad menu). Install this menu by using the command prompt menuload. Load the acad.mnu in that location...
