I have thought about pinch valves. When I used them in the past the hose had to be replaced as regular maintenance. We would prefer to avoid that in this application. Are there hoses that last for 10,000 pinches?
I have used those pins in hinges on products sold in the millions. Unless we flare the ends they will work their way out. 0.0001" of movement times 1,000 cycles is 0.1 inches.
I agree with the suggestion of eliminating the pins and gluing it together. There are aerospace applications with CF...
I know a lot about valves for gases but need something different for my next project. Can anyone recommend a supplier of inexpensive small plastic valves for water? Only needs to hold 1 PSI. Manual or electrical operation are both options.
This was a question that could have gone into a dozen different forums. Like you said hopefully the right guy will come along that can explain what characteristics give these materials and coatings their unique tactile properties.
What properties gives a coating a "soft touch " feel? There has to be more to it then just a low coefficient of friction.
How do you define and "soft touch" so that you can evaluate different materials?
