Free body diagram and cylinder force help

@snick I'd be curious as to what you come up with, if you don't mind. I don't want to trouble you though.

Free body diagram and cylinder force help

I got what I needed from a friend. My cylinder is well within the safety factor. I now have a Free Body to reference in the future.

Free body diagram and cylinder force help

@Dave Just trying to educate myself. I'm interested in better understanding what you are saying. If I move the cylinder 1" the door will move in an arc x distance. Do you mean how far the center of mass moves or the door arm connection or? This is where I get tripped up. Reading and...

Free body diagram and cylinder force help

@rb My last reply was to @snick. They said they would draw up a free body diagram.

If I missed any dimensions fudge it and note it on the free body diagram. https://imgur.com/a/xqzaFfT

Free body diagram and cylinder force help

This is not homework. I've taken some engineering classes so I'm familiar with the theory and terms. I've just never been good at applying it. I'm building a little enclosure with a pneumatic cylinder-actuated door. Need some help making the free-body diagram and force needed to open the door...

    ordinate arrow

I fudged it. Separated the top and bottom of the zero of the view. Also added some sketch lines to separate the areas.

    ordinate arrow

How do I add an ordinate arrow to show which direction it is coming from? Chain adds chained arrows to all ordinate dims. I thought there was a way to just show a short arrow at the ordinate dim.

    FEA torque simulation

Sorry didn't know there was an FEA section. Can I move it or the mod has too?

    FEA torque simulation

I believe it would only fail at the hex portion. I'm curious to see how thin the hex portion can be. My stated torque for the lock nut this is for is 100ft-lbs.

    FEA torque simulation

I'm making a custom wrench for personal use. For fun, I'd like to run an FEA and see if the wrench will fail. below is a similar wrench. A torque wrench is applied to the square hole. Where do I fix and apply the load? Should it be a torque or a force?

    Swept baffle

Thanks. How do I make that work with a baffle ID of say 30"?

    Swept baffle

I need to have a baffle sweep around a nozzle opening in between 2 cylinders. The baffle is open on the bottom. I'm having a heck of a time trying to visualize it. I've attached a part file with the geometry and some screenshots of my attempt. The last screenshot it what it would look like...

    Macro modification

Got it answered in the SW forum.

    Macro modification

Posted this in the SW forum figured I'd try here as well. The attached macro counts hole wizard holes and returns the count in an excel file. How do I have it return the count in a dialog box? I assume this is...
