I have it unchecked and I only get the typical SW icon not the icon that looks like the figure. I have also enabled some settings in windows from a performance standpoint that might be why I do not see them. In Windows open the System properties dialog box. If I look at the advance tab and...
U Offor,
You will not be able to model it exactly like the physical part you have. In my experience with SW Sheetmetal you cannot have flanges that touch you have to leave a gap between them.
We use PDM PRO and barely scratch the surface of its capabilities. We transitioned from Workgroup PDM when it was killed back in 2017.
That is a pretty crazy workflow. Could split your ECN off as a separate workflow if you wanted so you could use it on other file types? I did this but now...
If you are using PDM PRO you can setup the web version so your vendor could pull a copy of the PDF from the vault directly after you send them an email.
When you say PDM often has revision errors does not mean the solid has been updated but no one updated the drawing or are people not changing...
Are you use a PDM system? I know with PDM Pro you can use a variable to determine what is shown in such a note and set the variable to blank when the part is going through the approval process. Creating the PDF can then be automated as part of the approval process as well.
You could do the...
You can definitely create a sequential number generator with PDM PRO. However, if you want it to start over at 0001 at some point you would have to do that manually. I am not sure if you want it to just continue to count from 0001-9999 or if you and it to count 0001-9999 for each prefix ahead...
We have seen problems with different computers not laptop/desktop but laptop/laptop. We have also seen it work great save the file next day open the file on the same computer and mates are messed up.
To clear everything out of the registry you have to manually do a REGEDIT and find all the stuff. I had a reseller previously that had sent me a list of all the entries/folders that needed to be deleted out of the registry but it was over 10 years ago and I have changed jobs so lost the list...
Next time try to uninstall SW then clear all SW references out of the registry, big PIA as they hide crap everywhere. Then install again. I have had to do that a few times in the past, but not in the last 8 years.

We do a fair amount of rendering and simulating but not on anything nearly as large as your describing (most of our stuff is only 15 parts). However, We just recently had one user that upgraded from a 4.5 year old laptop with quad I7 (2.8ghz with self over clocking to 3.1ghz I think)...
The XPS is not a workstation laptop. I would see if you could get a different graphics card. Not sure if the GTX1050 supports OPENGL of not since it is a gaming card.
In my experience Solidworks requires far fewer mouse clicks to do anything. I have used Pro E and watch others far more experienced at Pro E than I and it will take 5-6 mouse clicks to do to what I do in Solidworks in 3. Not a hug difference but when added up over weeks-months-years it comes...
