aspearin1, I've tried heating this material and it's very sensitive to heat - but I thought maybe it might be some kind of heat weld, since the tubing appears it might even be pvc shrink tubing... However, some of the sample pieces I have appear to have some kind of clear glue or adhesive...
I am also trying to find a strong glue for nylon. Does anything stick or weld Nylon 6 or nylon copolymers to itself or to pvc? The problem is bonding the nylon as a monofilament to pvc tubing with good strength.
At least one goods manufacturer has solved these problems, but isn't interested...
