Thanks for suggestion 'jkgvnr' - I had tried all this, even had PTC support stuck for a while. The problem appeared to be licence related, but we couldn't see why.
My big problem was McAfee (Internet security suite which includes firewall etc.) : uninstalled McAfee, uninstalled PrOe stuff...

I recently have bought EFX - I have a problem getting it to run : followed the guidance in the admin manual, get the EFX icons in ProE, but they don't work. I get a message when I hover over icons - "Mapkey "xxx" is not currently defined in this session"
PTC Support so far haven't...
